It was weird shear wind too - the airports I don't think got above 25 mph Saturday. Wind at my house wasn't anything too crazy - it was strong but not unlike any run of the mill March windy day.
But the way the trees, poles and billboard twisted - very unusual.
If you look at the trees down you can see a path from where 81 and 83 intersect and then between those roads until you hit 581. That weird circle shape was hammered. And then it just went .. poof. Bizarre south-moving storm, that was.
To add I’ve been in a lot of hail storms and can’t recall seeing hail so clear. It looked like it came out of an ice machine.
I don’t fully understand how and why hail gets produced over, say, other dynamics.
Friend that lives across from the Greek church in East Penn/Camp Hill has two huge trees down in her backyard - she won’t get power for a while as they ripped the meter off the house
Y’all always jokingly ask if trees are down on Front St …. 2nd picture is just a random one along the riverfront. Hail shredded trees, man. Haven’t seen this since Texas.
