  1. Same idea, But like anything else, The bigger the container, The more room for root growth, The bigger the plant, I started out in 5 gal containers and moved to 14 gallon and a couple 35 gal ones over the last 5+yrs.
  2. I had contemplated the rain barrel idea but elected not to go that route, You would need to filter out the shingle particles, If you look in a rain gutter, Over time you have to clean them out of roofing matter as most are asphalt shingles.
  3. Yes, Check the pic i just posted above.
  4. Yes, Then same idea, This is what the inside of the container looks like, The tray sits 6" above the bottom so that is all water below there, You pack those two pieces of drain pipe with soil in the container, That's the wicking part, I also have a drain hole on the outside of the containe at just under 6" so the water never gets above that level, This pic is about a week or so after planting.
  5. No, Those containers are self wicking for the plants, They hold 5 gallons of water ea and i have them on irrigation timers, So the plant itself controls there uptake of water, I'm already picking heads of Broccoli...........
  6. That area is waterlogged, Earlier in the week it finally had dried out as its a slow seeping into the ground.
  7. Typically its to much water, But i have no problem on that end of things, Mine are self wicking so they take as much as they want.
  8. Its all clay, I'm below grade on all sides, I need to haul in some loam and build it up, Never had a problem like this and have been here 30 yrs, It won't happen again.
  9. Would be great if it was Jan-Feb and cold temps.
  10. Well as usual, The HRRR sucks, 1.59", I really didn't need this, It has killed two of my arbors, There not a swamp tree, I have had water sitting in this area since April with no place to go.................
  11. Yeah, Its scattered, It looks like he gets in on it, But where it falls, Its a good drink.
  12. 0z HRRR has close to 1.0" here, Da fuk, No
  13. +SHRN, 0.75"/hr rates, Up to 0.30" in this batch coming thru now.
  14. Seeing some spotter reports of FF in Concord MA from that cell that just passed thru.
  15. The makings of some flash flooding right there.
  16. Yeah well, Folks from NE are looked as just that unfortunately because some are arrogant and portray the whole region as being such, But others like myself, Forecast for various other sites or businesses, As well as spot for the NWS and report to some of the local tv affiliates as well as a circle on FB that hit me up, Accuracy becomes more important then just hyping events, Credibility is a big factor if you want to continue to be successful and receive "gifts" along the way because of it.
  17. Yup, Sneaking up some, 75/67°F on my PWS.
  18. A little more dewey out ahead of the front that sweeps thru over the next day or so, 75/65°F.
  19. You end up being much more credible that way, And folks will take you more serious.
  20. Blue seems to be the color, When i was golfing, And we were on the green where they were a nuisance, I would take my hat and hang it on my putter and put my arm straight up in the air so it was 12' or so above my head and they would just keep buzzing around the hat..............
  21. I have noticed over the years that they like darker colored clothing and hats that people wear as opposed to light colors.
  22. Mainly its Dr Demented and his side kick, That's where the "we" comes in.
