I think its multiple things. MD has closed schools before for storms, there was one in March a few years ago. So its not totally unprecedented. But when some counties started going early dismissals yesterday, the others followed suite. Meanwhile, I am hoping we close the studio tonight because honestly I do not want to be driving in that mess in the dark later. But thats just me.

i wouldn't expect frederick to close early.

I can understand counties along the bay closing early as tidal flooding is going to be a big concern. combo wind/rain will make traffic/bus routes really shitty later. Even canceling after-school activities makes sense, just get everyone home. With that said, I had numerous parents at the dance studio last night asking wtf was coming that would be so bad to close schools early lol
