    Thats good! Im not too concerned that it won't be a fun trip, and the Falling Waters visit is more for my husband than me. He's into that whole architecture thing and we've done a few historic house tours over the years on vacations, so its right up our ally. personally, i am hoping there is a visit to the spa so i can get a massage or something hahaha

    yes! next week. My better half has been doing an engineer training for the last 6 months and their final session is next friday. he was able to bring me for the end of training banquet and they are paying for our room for a night. we decided to make it a longer trip to celebrate my birthday while we are there. we have tickets for Falling Waters on the 27th, and his training/dinner is 2-6, then 7pm on Friday (Ill have to find something to do before dinner), but otherwise our schedule is open. Heading up Wednesday, coming back Saturday (my mom is taking the kid).

    oh thats a good idea! i have a VFW American Legion up the road, i wonder if they take donations. i had the same issue last year with an heirloom plant. later in the season tho.

    that was the problem i had last year, way too much produce and not enough time/desire to eat it all. so we scaled back. i can hand things off to coworkers as needed (we all share our home grown stuff, one of my coworkers right now is bringing in strawberries like crazy, my kid is in heaven!). my cherry tomatoes just seem to be struggling. was doing a little pruning yesterday and branches were splitting at forks along the stem and falling off in my hand. blah.

    not necessarily -- southern breezes bring in the moisture and humidity, that help leads to storms. its usually situation dependent, not an all or nothing deal.

    scaled back a tad in the garden this year. only one cucumber plant, one tomato, two peppers and then went with lettuce instead of squash and/or zukes. have already harvested a handful of cucumbers, and did a first round of harvest on the lettuce. my lunch is fresh from the garden today! peppers are doing great, tomatoes seems to be struggling tho.
