Just an outsider pov, wouldn't it make more sense to merge with, oh I don't know, the rest of the PA people instead of NY?
Totally blame you all for weatherguy aka cape may dude, aka AGW lover who **** up the MA forum until yesterday.
you shut your whore mouth -- the ice storm the northern MD areas got in Feb 2014 was terrible. No power for a day, couldn't leave the house until later in the day due to trees down, a one-year old at home. F-that.
for me personally:
Jan 2000
Dec 2009
Jan 96
Feb 2010 (both)
The Jan 2000 storm is what got me into weather, so I can't diss it. But do remember the 96 storm quite well and it was amazing. I will always be biased for Dec 2009, for obvious reasons.
Using the data released by the Springfield office (as linked above). I wrote up a blog post for ustornadoes.com about the 2-year anniversary. Includes some radar images, and a few maps.

Thank you to JoMo, who took the time to compile a list of videos taken along the path of the tornado. I used some of them in one of the maps.
Thinking of Joplin today.
I remember parts of 295 (up near me) where merge lanes weren't plowed all the way. I went to work one day between the storms and got to the end of the in ramp and had to come to a screeching stop. I was either going to drive straight into a snow bank or onto 295 traffic. Was really bad and am lucky I didn't cause an accident because of it. I called SHA as soon as I got to work to complain. It was plowed that day.
