Yeah I hope people aren’t being lackadaisical down south for Sunday. Looks impressive, the 4/2011 analog is worth keeping in mind too monday is tricky, like EJ said, could end up being QLCS type setup, maybe some spin ups on front edge as notches form. Or could be a rainy event without much severe

Hey, stop fighting. People feel how they feel and that’s okay. People can disagree with those feelings and that’s okay too. Let’s all be nicer to each other over it. We are all suffering in our ways right now and honestly this cold wind is bullshit so I feel the pain. but it’s okay for those who don’t mind it too... be well, friends.

Happy Anniversary! Sorry it has to be celebrated under such circumstances but sounds like you guys are making the most of it. Here’s to 21 more!

Hogan has accepted the Board of Elections recommendations to have a mail-in ballot primary in June
-
Winds are crazy today
-
really? we have been trying to order out from local places couple times a week. delivery, or pick up. need to support these local places. not fast food chains, they are fine. its the ma/pa restaurants that need your business now more than ever

Worth mentioning: Hogan said during his presser today that he is opening a registry for people who have recovered from Covid. The goal is to create a network for those who have recovered, they can share stories, and help others who are having problems. Also, by doing so (and its voluntary to join the registry) they can select people to help with clinical trials, through Johns Hopkins. IMO, this is great. Not only do you get an idea of who has recovered, but they can help with research moving forward, whether its donating plasma, or helping with trials.

i get it. 100%, the fallout from having to stay home sucks. i feel for those who've lost their jobs. but i hope people can remember that by social distancing and closing things down its to limit the spread and those who die. and that its not forever. things will reopen and people will get their jobs back. its just a matter of waiting this things out a bit longer. yeah. ive had to reschedule appointments myself, so i feel you there.
-
youll have to be more specific on what situation you are referring too
-
this is a good point. some may feel they are healthy enough that its worth the risk. others, like myself, dont' even want to chance it.
-
sorry, you'll have to bear with me. my scientific brain can only handle so many hypothetical situations that will never happen to compare this virus to
-
bad example to compare too. but thats just me.
-
but are road systems aren't set up that way and last i checked i've never experienced a situation where suddenly all speeds drop to 25 nationwide bad example IMO
-
of course, but highways aren't 25mph speeds otherwise they wouldn't be highways
-
yeah i didn't get the part about how driving 25mph will actually impact peoples lives negatively and cause commerce destruction.
-
but no body is doing what you are saying. you keep pushing this narrative that isn't being discussed. everyone here knows the risks and if we open too soon, or too fast, we are back to square one with another spike in cases and deaths. and you can't compare this with car accidents. you just cant.
-
lol EJ deleted his post
-
but it kind of is, you seem to be in a rush to get back to normal when we arent there yet as a country.
-
look, if you are so impatient to go out and get on with life, then go do it. dont take precautions, go back to work, go shopping (depending on whats open of course). if you want to risk your health, and anyone else you come in contact with, by all means have it. stay away from Parkton though. the rest of us will wait and see how it goes and not risk our lives because of the EcOnOmY
-
I don't want anyone to die, regardless of granny or grandpa. what a weird thing to say.
-
good point - one i think people forget. social distancing and slowing spread was to help the strain on the healthcare system. everyone getting sick at once would be a nightmare for hospitals. i mean if you think NYC has been bad the last two weeks with social distancing measures in place, can you imagine how bad it would be WITHOUT them in place? OMG it would be terrible.
-
but by limiting its spread, you still lower how many will die from it. its all connected. I get your POV, and i agree its all personal choice. I just don't think comparing the risk of getting on a bus to a highly contagious virus is the right comparison to make.
-
Yes but by limiting infection rate, you limit the number of deaths from it. So its all connected and dependent on what we as a society does. social distancing is working, projections are dropping because of it. we have to just suck it up for a while more, make changes in everyday life (wearing masks for example) and eventually, it will die out and only pop up during seasonal outbreaks, like the flu. I think the sooner people understand and accept that our new normal will be different and everyone will have to do their part to be more aware of spreading germs, we will all come out of this okay. rushing to go back to how things used to be, will only make it worse. you can't use job risks as a comparison. those are risks people make by choice, every day. get in a car. go to work. go on a job site. we don't have control over how the disease spreads. we just do our part to limit its spread... but you dont get a say on who gets sick. people do have a say on whether they act like idiots on a job site that could risk lives. does that make sense?

not surprised. PG County and MoCo are the most populated MD counties, followed by Baltimore County (third most cases). Hogan has also raised concerns about racial issues regarding who is getting care, and/or who has health coverage to get the medical attention they need. MD DOH released some of that data yesterday. Large percentage of african americans with covid and dying of it. I wish I had a better idea of where people live who are positive. My assumption is most cases are heavily centered in the most populated areas (duh). We've said many times that living where we do is probably helping us out a lot.
