Yup, i could see that being a good way to tackle it too. I feel you! Its hard for us too, both my husband and I work all day too, and then give her attention, etc as much as we can. Its not easy! But don't give up hope, you guys will make it work however you can!

you can't have students repeat a year that was almost 3 quarters done. in the end parents will complain no matter the decision, but if it was me, just pass them all and start next year fresh.

weve had okay success. virtual class with a bunch of first graders is hectic, but they only do that once a week. mini-map's teachers all put together packets upon packets of stuff to do, but its all electronic. we are still waiting for the actual papers to come home. there is only so much my kid can do online, she needs to sit and do stuff on paper. so, we've done what we can until that paperwork comes in the mail. of course, every situation is different. my kid is in first grade, so i'm not terribly concerned she isn't learning enough. we have her do plenty.

ha, was coming to post the same news. I imagine MD will follow suit, but may not announce right away. IMO: they just pass everyone and start next year fresh. Maybe do some review of what the kids should have been learning, but just move forward. Kids cant repeat years, you can't hold back seniors from graduating, etc. It won't be pretty but I dont know how else they do it.

I've seen Hogan's communication people mention it more frequently the last two days, about them looking into schools reopening in the fall. we are planning that mini-map will not be going back to school this academic year. we just haven't said it out loud to her.
  8. I def have a box of steak ums in the freezer. They are greasy and gross yet somehow perfect, just as I remembered them growing up.

This is not certain, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. However, I think parents with kids should discuss that chance amongst themselves. My husband and I have.

    COVID-19 Talk

The last two weeks I’ve gone mid afternoon on (both times Thursday’s by chance) and I had a hard time finding the necessities i went this morning at open and got everything on my list except ground beef and lunch meat. TP was slim pickings but everything else was stocked. I go to Walmart in Shrewsbury, PA so it’s ruralish and it depends on when stores restock.
  11. my davis needs to be sent off for repair. it doesn't hold the solar charge at night anymore. was going to send it just before this all happened but now just going to wait it out. so my station is pretty much useless at night lol

so based on what i've seen its 7-10 days from time of infection until symptoms show then from what ive seen it either lasts a good week or more and then people start to get better, or they end up in ICU. I've read that happens around 7-10 days from onset of symptoms. Obviously some may progress differently and faster So lets say 14-20 days from infection until a corner is turned. thats one hell of a time period for people to stay home and not infect anyone else

we probably will. this week isnt going to be a very good week regarding deaths. so many who have been sick, will either turn a corner and get better, or they don't and end up on ventilators, and we know how low the chances are of surviving once on a ventilator.

Oh yeah, i imagine most will act differently after this. But I am still pretty surprised by older folks lackadaisical approach. While at the store this morning, about 9 out 10 had masks on. Older men, did not. Saw one dad with his two kids... no PPE of any sort for them. Personally, we have kept our kid home. She hasn't left the house in 3 weeks (week 1 we went to the trail a few times but then it got crowded). We only leave when we need to go to the store, otherwise we aren't going anywhere. And I have no plans to go anywhere until schools reopen. Hogan won't send kids back to school if its not safe, even just a little bit.

yup, i mean just look at today's numbers. 30% were tested in March. Now that could be literally last monday, March, or it could be 2 weeks ago March. Either way, the long lapse between testing and results doesnt help give a true sense of the outbreak. I can't see Hogan reopening anything any time soon

This explains the drastic rise in confirmed cases in MD. I imagine many that had it in March are now better. or so i hope.

Yikes - 1,153 new cases in MD yesterday. I imagine a lot of backlog of testing has finally come back which explains the dramatic rise in numbers
