Thanks for sharing that tidbit. Have you seen the data yourself?

Of course, cases have to lower. But we’ve seen dramatic increases in case numbers as backlog eases. Without knowing when people were tested vs when results came back, it’s hard to truly grasp if it’s still spreading at high rates, or if it Is flattening.

....again, not all 700 were tested yesterday. We have no clue how much of that is backlog. I think paying attention to hospital admissions is good, as it gives an idea of the number of people who are sick enough to have to be admitted. Maybe one day lag if it’s due to lack of updating the system, but it’s close to real-time

I said earlier today June 1 was a good goal. The testing, ppe/supplies, tracing stuff? He has done well, I agree.

im willing to bet they wont be going back to school, so nothing to fret over.
  7. we have some in pots, so i just keep bringing them in. i didnt even put them out today, they get enough sun near a window. poppies and daisies. kiddo cannot wait until they start sprouting so we can transplant them to other larger pots on the deck skipping a veggie garden this year, wanted to do a butterfly garden but i think i'm too late to get that started. who knows. yup, thats why i usually shoot for mothers day to get plants in the ground.

MD is set to go back Monday April 27th. As far as I know, the superintendent hasnt made a decision yet. Hogan has said he is letting them make their recommendations and he will make the final decision based on that. Other states, like PA, made the decision without conferring with the state superintendent.
  9. i have learned the hard way, unless you can bring plants inside, dont go planting anything until mothers day

caught up with my daycare lady, she was approved by the state to open next week. however she can only take kids for essential working parents. and shes only opening 3-days a week for now. but glad to hear she will be open and ready to help as needed.

The data is also part of the feature services I mentioned yesterday -- MD Department of IT hopes to have it all available to the public for download through MD iMap (for those familiar).

yes. this week has been especially bad regarding new hospitalizations, and its not surprising given how long it takes people from having mild symptoms to needing more care. 151 on the 12th for the 11th 115 on the 13th for the 12th 147 on the 14th for the 13th 109 on the 15th for the 14th

i think everyone needs to start telling themselves that things like going to the community pool this summer, won't be happening. Concerts - nope. Sporting events - nope. Firework shows - nope. On and on and on. Its going to be quite some time before we are back to "normal".

its honestly common sense. would you expect a fire fighter to show up to a fire without an oxygen tank and masks? a police officer with out a vest or gun? i hope this pandemic opens the eyes to many on how our front line workers need more than what they get on any given day.
