  1. Yeah main coil in the inside unit, so he replaced that and we are good to go. It cracked and was the ultimate cause of the leak.
  2. wanted to sweat out the quarantine pounds we've all put on
  3. yay coil has been replaced! AC on!
  4. Great, thank you! There is a breeze up here this morning, which is a god send for temps in the house. COME ON LOWER DEWS
  5. when is the front supposed to move through? or better question, when does the humidity break?
  6. I say that right as the sky opens up. There has been stuff to my west for the last hour or so but just hadnt made it this way.
  7. holy shit at some yalls rain totals. .07 so far at my house today
  8. Thanks! Yeah, if only the front would come today instead of late tomorrow.
  9. Have had a little bit of off/on showers 79/76 outside 82 with 72% humidity inside!
  10. misty here Berk called this a tropical storm on twitter. I mean, i see the circulation on radar, but thats a poor choice of words.
  11. He was very apologetic yesterday when he returned to see what else was wrong. Nice guy, and he's been really open answering questions Mr Map had. While I wish he had looked a bit more after finding a loose flange and refrigerant leak, its possible the coil issue wasn't an issue until after the leak. So who knows. It will get fixed and we will be comfy in the house again. But in the future, if we have issues, I'm messaging you first!
  12. Ha! Its still unruly, yes. especially in this humid house
  13. you've said a lot of things that i have no idea about hahahaha The ice build up was on the immediate junction that exits the compressor unit to the hose that runs to the house. The hose and outside compressor unit was not frozen, just that one connector junction thingie (lol). I did not notice any leak inside, wet basement floor or anything. I do appreciate all the information you've given me though!
  14. while on the topic of cars, my aunt posted this picture of her and i on FB. no idea what car it is, but the pic is from the mid-80s. i was so cute and sassy
  15. hey thanks! so we had the whole furnace/ac unit replaced in winter of 2014, so its still fairly new. my understanding is its the coil inside. I did notice that there was a lot of ice build up outside on the unit, at the junction where the hose connects to the unit itself before running into the house. was a solid block of ice around that junction area. the leak the guy fixed the first time was inside. I also noticed a weird whistle coming from the inside unit tuesday afternoon when it broke again, which Mr Map said was because of the busted coil. other than that, i dont know much else. Mr Map was dealing with the HVAC guy the last two days while I was on school duty.
  16. hey, thanks! such is life, right? bad timing with first week of school and all but it is what it is. It will get fixed.
  17. Id take muggy and 75 with clouds over 99 heat with an HI in the 100s
  18. Busted coil. Guy didn't have the part, so now we wait for that. I will say, I am glad its September and not July. But the mugginess is awful right now.
  19. It was working. Then died again in the afternoon. Guy comes back this morning to try again. LOL home ownership is the worst.
  20. some flange came loose which resulted in refrigerant leaking. so he fixed that, refilled it and we are good to go. $300 later of course hahahahaha
  21. Thanks for the information! Not sure yet what the issue is, HVAC is working on it now. I'm in charge of keeping dogs sane and kiddo on track with school while Mr. Map deals with the HVAC. Takes a village!
  22. our AC died yesterday. So between juggling my work schedule, Mr Maps schedule, the kid's schedule, now we have to also wrangle dogs from the HVAC guy who shows up in 30 minutes. Happy First day of school! lol is it happy hour yet?
