I used to be how you are, would read the long range thread and check models a lot and I’d gets too invested in fantasy storms showing up for more than a few runs before it went poof. And it did bother me to the point where my overall mood would just be blah.
But over the years I’ve dealt with a lot of things personally; deaths in my world, struggles in many other places... to name a couple things. I learned to step back and prioritize what to let bother me and in many cases, even pay attention to. One of those happened to be long range tracking.
Things have also gotten incredibly busy at work the last 6 months, on top of working from home and being a teacher to a virtually learning second grader. I honestly just don’t have the time I use to have to pay attention to that stuff anymore. I check occasionally but it could go a week before I read the long range thread.
While I can’t say you should or should not invest time into long range stuff, I will say if it’s impacting you mentally and emotionally that does impact other aspects of your life, like @WxWatcher007 said, that’s not good and you should take a step back and look to see what areas you need to focus on. It is only snow after all.
