You can tell by the grey /browns that you mentioned. Also on the bottom or side it does say clear air. Typically, when there's no precip in the area it's in clear airSent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
That's because the Upton CWA is centered in LI not NYC. Most of North/Central NJ is closer climate wise to NYC than LI is and closer mileage wise as well. If we did a 40 mile radius of NYC much of LI wouldn't even fall within their CWA and much of Mt. Holly's area would.
Right, this has been a very localized phenomenon for just EWR, and looking back to 93, 95, 99 etc. I couldn't find a similar stretch (95 came close but they managed one night in the upper 60s). It also hasn't dropped below 65 since mid June.
While I'm not sure what the record stretch is I noticed EWR has failed to drop below 70 since July 16th (unless in between hours last night it appears the low was 70). They have a shot the next couple nights but have been generally staying a few degrees warmer than guidance so my guess is they won't. Last year they went 21 days in a row, so far they're at 19 at the moment
Not really because EWR has been running a general 3 to 5 sometimes even 6 degrees higher than any other reporting site. Today its been 2 degrees as they've been at 91 and TEB/SMQ are 88-89. CDW is 15 miles away but 86 (I believe its 200-300 feet ASL at the airport where they measure). Linden is no longer used as a surface station
