Clearly someone measured and forgot snow was already on the ground from the prior storm Tuesday . With some melting and compaction it was probably still a foot or so and there was some sleet and freezing drizzle in between

GFS first sniffed out the cooldown this weekend a week ago. I do think some cold places will see lows in the 40s but the gfs now keeps us in the 60s all day which I still remain skeptical of
