  1. AZ was just too hot for me though I guess you get used to it. This was near Sedona where my in laws live. If you go north a bit by Flagstaff it cools off plus they get alot of snow Colorado would be my pick but obviously very far from any oceans. Love the Durango area. Beautiful summers and snowy winters but not frigid We also like coastal Delaware. Not alot of snow but still 4 seasons

New York City Parks officials are closing beaches across Brooklyn and Queens to swimmers this weekend in anticipation of life-threatening rip currents and other hazards expected from Hurricane Ernesto. The beaches, including at Jacob Riis Park, will be closed Saturday, Aug 17 and Sunday Aug. 18. The National Weather Service is forecasting local ocean swells of up to 6 feet in height and predicting wind gusts up to 12 miles per hour.
  3. Euro is mostly dry for the weekend and holds off the rain til Sunday night and Monday
  4. Cmc and ukie fairly wet weekend upcoming. Gfs has rain but much less
  5. 10 years ago, 13.57" of rain fell at Islip, NY setting a new NY State 24 hour precipitation record. 11.19" fell in 3 hours from 5 am-8 am Aug 13. 1.76" of rain fell in just 15 min (5:39am-5:54am).   9. 7 of the first 9 days saw at least .10" of rain and now there's not a drop of rain forecast for the next 7 days
  10. Ever since the apps people expect the forecast to be nailed down to the nearest minute. Now we have the state of emergency when the worst has already moved through
