No I'm saying the 26th storm has looked warm all along on the gfs so it hasn't really teased us. This euro run is the first showing a snowy outcome I believe
It's funny because just west of the city we were always forecast to get 10-12" and I ended up with just about a foot. It snowed 1-2" an hour for 7 hours with a touch of sleet at the end
I don't believe so but don't really remember. I just remember playing outside when it was 70 degrees with piles of snow in the background before the arctic blast of Jan 85
In the 80s almost all our snows of 4"+ came in Jan and Feb. There were a few March events like in 84 and 87 but very few December events. Dec 84 had something around Christmas followed by a major warmup
Half those winters were about to have at least a moderate to major snow event and/or a turn to cold. In a couple weeks I think this winter will be #1 or 2
