  1. Mid 30s and raining for most of the DFW today. It's like the weather is teasing us
  2. I'm skeptical of any sort of wintry weather occurring at this point
  3. Anyone wanna take bets on whether that thundersleet cluster reaches Dallas?
  4. You know it's been a boring few winters when people are getting excited about freezing drizzle
  5. Seem like FWD is backing off on the idea of wintry precip for the weekend
  6. WFAA talking about a potential tornado watch including part of the metroplex. Hype machine needs somethinf I guess EDIT: Tornado Watch for portions of Western Arkansas Eastern Oklahoma Northeastern Texas
  7. SPC out with a slight risk for severe storms in the eastern half of NTX. Certainly feels like a stormy day outside
  8. Got a light dusting here at UTD. Looks like we might go yet another year without a snow day
  9. Can't tell if the snow out by Granbury/Mineral Wells is heading northeast or east. Makes a big difference for north dallas burbs
  10. Getting some consistent light snow/sleet now. Starting to accumulate
  11. East and central TX look to be in for a real treat. Which in fairness they get screwed a lot by winter weather setups so they've earned it EDIT: Decent sleet shower at UTD as of 9:30
  12. Looks like there is some backfill happening on radar so not quite over yet. Do agree that things have to change soon for any real accumulations
  13. Gonna have to fill in pretty quick if we want to see the totals it was spitting out earlier
  14. Getting mix of sleet and freezing rain in Richardson EDIT: Stopped pretty quick
  15. Pretty stark case of haves and have nots if anything close to what WFAA is predicting verifies. They had totals over an inch in Rockwall yet zip for Richardson
  16. Has there been any time in the past where the NAM has verified better than HRRR and NWS called it in advandce? Getting a sense of deja-vu but not sure if it's the lack of wintry precip these last few years driving me crazy
  17. Still amazed about the shift to the NAM. I swear I was only kidding in that last post EDIT: Wonder what's the longest area school districts have gone without issuing a snow day? I know UTD has not issued one since 2015 (and have doubts we will this year). Very real possibility that some folks middle school years will not include a snow day, and depending on this coming winter that may be expanded to include HS/college
  18. The media is still hyping it up. Just got a push notification from WFAA about it
  19. At the rate this season is going DFW will be lucky to even see 1/2 inch
