60/41 currently. Great night for fireworks out this way.
-
66/49 perfect weather for the Chester Fireman’s fair.
-
Compared to the last few days, it’s gorgeous outside.
-
.45 at the Chester Station. 1” in Peapack. So quite the spread in less than 5 miles.
-
71/70…gross, wet blanket of an air mass. Hopefully we get some good storms later.
-
We must have gotten a good cell to hit in Chester sometime around 6; we took the kids up to Byram Township and were looking at the backside of some significant anvils. Looks like round 2 is headed east down route 78.

Quick shower here. Storms to my south. Steam bath now as I’m trying to build a new slate patio.
-
66/62 here; crazy to see northern VT at 80
-
Im at 66 down here in NJ; just a wild pattern to me to see northern VT at 80.
-
86/69; at the sake of being sacrilegious, it’s comfortable with a light breeze. Granted, I wouldn’t want to work outside in it.
-
76/65; just walked in from watering the chickens and the garden. Not terrible at the moment, but I’m sure the HI will launch today Would be nice to get a breeze to move the soup.

Currently I’m at 65 in western Morris County, NJ. How is it possible that Burlington is stuck in the upper 70s for overnight lows; is it just a heat sink? I’ve never been, just curious about the dynamics.

Did a section of the AT from near the Connecticut border into Mass, for a week during the summer of 2004. The humidity was insane; nothing would dry. Couldn’t get a fire light as the wood was soaked. Aside from that, just a beautiful section of the trail.

About to rock n roll at the office in Basking Ridge. Wife at home in Chester says power is flickering.
-
Do you have a link? I haven’t seen this reported yet down here.
-
The past three days have been phenomenal; if I could bottle them up and open when needed, I would gladly do so. You cannot stop the match towards summer, but personally I can do without the HHH; oh well, I haven’t figured out how to control the weather yet.

Fantastic evening. Decent breeze, no humidity. 68 degrees.
-

May 2024 Discussion - Welcome to Severe Season!!!!
ForestHillWx replied to weatherwiz's topic in New England
Come to NJ, our bruin population is significant and we have considerably less wilderness for them to hang out in. I agree with @powderfreakthey largely will move along, however right now is peak risk due to momma bears with cubs. Two small dogs were KIA in Sparta the other day; the owner sustained mild injury. It’s all about educating the people who live in “bear-country”. My personal pet peeve: trash bags put out the night before pick up, instead of early on the day of. Why not just ring the dinner bell? Cheers all! -
Dark with rumbles. Light rain. And just had the first flash of lightening. Edit: very heavy rain now with some wind

At the request of my wife and kids, and as it is Mother’s Day, the heat has been reactivated as the internal temp dropped to 60. Currently 43, with rain, in Chester.

We were pretty much locked in under overcast skies all day with a brisk east wind; 57 was the warmest. Back down to 46 with rain now.
