  1. Currently 13 with winds gusting to 15 mph. Coldest day this winter.
  2. Snow/sleet mix. 1/2”-3/4” on all surfaces including roads. Sanders have been out. Daughters school getting 2:30 early dismissal (I mean come on!)
  3. 18 with wind gust up to 15 mph. Probably coldest real-feel temp this winter.
  4. Cold here today. Mostly cloudy and a slight wind of the northwest. 34 now and feels like the warmest of the day.
  5. That was fun. Heavy snow for about an hour. Picked up 3/4-1”. Very fluffy. Roads are covered and sanders were out...Getting that Sunday pay.
  6. Fair amount of glaze outside that I did not anticipate. Pine bows are weighed down
  7. 25 at 7:30 am. 32 and overcast now. Feels like winter out this way.
  8. Nothing too crazy on winds out this way, very thankful of that. I feel for the people without power, Christmas morning an all. But we definitely had a deluge; water-logged between the rain and snow melt. Looking forward to seeing the heights of some of the local rivers on our way to my parents. Merry Christmas everyone.
  9. It definitely had the “feel” of snow outside this morning. Cold/cloudy and a certain stillness to the air. But I think I am too far removed from the best snow growth.
  10. Still light snow in Chester, eyeballing 7.5-8”. That sleet fest/dry slot was well modeled for our area. Great storm to open up the season. Hoping for bigger and better!
  11. Buddy just sent a photo of 25” measured in Ballston Spa and “still ripping“ (his words). I remember PD 2 in 2007 up there, while in grad school, just epic powder. Hit Gore Mt. the next morning and it was unreal. I imagine this storm might drop similar totals up there.
  12. Eyeballing 5.5-6" on the ground; started pinging at 8:15 and it ended by 9. Now we wait for the slot to fill in. Good time to shovel.
  13. 23 degrees, moderate snow 1/2" accumulation so far. Winds are intermittent, but strong gusts from the ENE.
  14. That sucker hole in Morris County has begun to file in. Light flurries have commenced and we have lift off...
  15. To my untrained eye, that dry slot showing up in the western half of central and north Jersey, as modeled, will significantly reduce our potential for accumulation. Almost every model has had “something” (I want to call it a transition zone) where the storms energy appears to jump to the coastal, that is going to make for a period of light snow at best. Is that the effect of the 700mb low center?
  16. The January 2016 storm we got 33" out her in Chester; it was an absolute beast of a storm; I think I still have some cell videos I took during the height of it. Just absolutely dumped snow. I remember it well as my wife was 3 months pregnant with our first, my dad was in rehab post double knee replacement and we had a 10 week old puppy. No snowblower or plow, it took me the entire next stay (starting at 6:30 am) to shovel out. But for some reason, January 96 remains my favorite. It got me into chasing weather. Sorry for the banter...cheers everyone.
  17. Mostly snow as of 10:30. Could see the change around 10:00 am. No accumulation. Temp down to 34.
  18. 35/30 here; maybe the heavier rates coming up from PA will help bring the temp down. It’ll be close in my area.
