  1. Yeah and I did well just hoped for all day snow and no warm nose.
  2. Now I'm getting Freezing rain and sleet mixed. Still 27 degrees. This has been nice at least while it snowed today but this storm doesn't scratch the winter storm itch for me.
  3. Now dry slotted. I'm glad, maybe won't get much sleet to compact my 5"+. If we can get another 1-4 as MRX says before it moves out would be great.
  4. NWS Nashville talking about snow working back in as the evening and night drag on:
  5. Made it to 5.5" before sleet reached me, hopefully as the axis of warm nose move East eventually can still pick up a couple inches of snow from the back side of the storm hopefully. Still snowing obs in Arkansas and West Tennessee.
  6. Just passed me temperature still stubborn at 27, and all the giant flakes are now moderate sleet.
  7. Same it's absolutely puking! Like probably 1-2" per hours rates here.
  8. Yeah looks like that switch over boundary is about 30 miles south of me as the crow flies but moving this way. Getting good snow still with no mixing north of the boundary. Probably 4.5 inches currently temp hasn't budged for hours sitting at 27. Actually heaviest snow I've had all day.
  9. Beating me, I'm sitting at just about 4" at the moment. Hoping the change over doesn't make it this far north.
  10. Chattanooga folks what's it doing down your way? Did you switch?
  11. Heaviest rates I've had yet. Though Wondering if I am seeing that boundary coming north on radar from Hytop. There is an E-W boundary moving north on Hytop radar currently almost halfway up Hamilton County. Wondering if it'll make it up to I-40 area and switch to Sleet... You can see the boundary clearly on the radar animation but if you look closely at this image you'll see the sort of E-W line slightly curved.
  12. Flake size increases nicely in the heavier returns. Up to nickels with occasional goose feathers. This is definitely going to speed up accumulations.
  13. Yeah my temp increased up to 29 just before it began snowing but since it started temps have fallen, back down to 26.
  14. Yeah that's what I saw as returns disappeared for me, it was still snowing just very lightly with small flakes, however heavier bands are working up the valley and I'm on the edge of heavier precip and flakes are starting to get bigger now. Looking forward to those heavier returns. Got 1.5 inches currently all of just that really light stuff from when it started.
  15. Yeah I'm getting excited for those heavier rates to work their way up the valley.
  16. Takes a time but now in west Knoxville so it'll be to you probably less than an hour.
  17. This it's just going to vary in general based on dynamics and return rates. I expect we'll have moments of lighter moments of heavier. We have many many hours of precip to get through. What is your temp and DP?
  18. State road here Meigs/Roane line is already white and starting to get slippery as cars are packing the snow down. No brining of my state road, though to be fair it's a secondary state road and not of high importance.
  19. Looks like MRX increased their amounts a bit. Chattanooga back to 4-6", and Downtown Knoxville on the edge of 6-8" West Knoxville 6-8".
  20. Snow has just begun for me on the Meigs/Roane line so West Knoxville should be very soon if not already.
  21. Yeah I appear to have leveled off bouncing between 22 and 24 after rapid fall earlier. Dew point 17.
  22. It can be nerve wracking to be that close but if that line is in North Georgia, Chattanooga will score big with heavy precip rates and probably big beautiful wet goose feathers.
  23. Yep we all like that, some sort of glitch... They say, but yeah definitely not trolling us right?
