  1. 'As for rain amount`s, per GFES ensemble a 30% to 50% chance for totals AOA 0.5" south of the Mass Pike, with 20% to 30% AOA 1.0" across Cape and Islands. ECMWF ENS has very similar probabilites for areas AOA 0.5" though slightly more widespread AOA 1.0" across Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeast Massachusetts
  2. Enjoy the rain. We stay dry. At least hopefully. "This will be our next opportunity for showers across southern New England. Main change I`ve made from the NBM is to slow down the progression of PoPs as the NBM is much too fast/high in bringing chances in based on the consensus of deterministic guidance Tue Night through much of Wed. Really think that Wed PM through Thu NBMmuch more dialed in as this coincides with the placement/timing of a 20-30+ kt 925 hPa E to NEly low level jet. This is also where we tap into 1-2+ inch PWATs. At this point most confident in precipamounts/chances for the immediate south coast, whereas think there could be a tight N/S gradient with little if any precip along/north of the MA Turnpike
  3. Here's something for the old timers on here. Clearly remember them when I was a boy. Freaking loud! Thought of it today when the fighters flew over for Gillette.
  4. Went by it today. I'll grab a picture next time I'm in the area.
  5. Hard to distinguish the size without a better frame of reference. Likely a house cat.
  6. Wow that's pretty cool! It looks like a bobcat by the size but the tail is definitely not a bobcat.
  7. Damage! In 1947, the State of Maine suffered its largest forest fire disaster in modern history. The state experienced over 90 consecutive days of record breaking high temperatures and drought. By mid-October, many small wildfires started and spread out of control. Statewide, these fires burned over 220,000 acres, burned 1000 homes, left 2,500 people homeless and 16 people dead
  8. "found the deer - doe with little forked antlers still with velvet" t You sure about that?
  9. Don't be lazy. Fix it before you post Connecticut is going to burn!
  10. This dry stretch has certainly done the trick. Swamp logging today. Hadn't been able to get into that area for years.
  11. It's unlimited does In my area. And it's certainly necessary. Noticing more and more undernourished deer. They damaged their food sources.
  12. "SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: AS MUCH OF THE FORECAST STILL DEPENDS ON WHETHER THIS LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPS OFF OF THE SE COAST, HIGH UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS. ALL THE MODELS ARE PLAYING OUT A DIFFERENT SCENARIO AS TO IF AND WHEN THE LOW DEVELOPS, AND HOW STRONG IT IS GOING TO BE. NHC HAS A 30% OF TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THIS LOW ON THEIR 7-DAY TROPICAL OUTLOOK. " Hoping the homebrew doesn't ruin our summah.
  13. This blows! More rain next week. We just can't seem to catch a break.
  14. That's exactly what no one's saying. Definitely going to be early though. Lots of leaf litter already. Unreal how dry it is.
  15. At this point we might as well rename the Red Sox the Padres.
  16. Here's another stab in the dark. Anyone want to play golf tomorrow? I have a 10:20 tee time at the Cape club in Falmouth need a fourth.
  17. Early fall. First picture is American chestnut and the second is Black Birch. Early every year but not this early. Also this is on a hill on my property the rest of the forest is just starting.
