  1. I would also imagine that part of the problem is we see very few tornadoes in this area and even fewer are impactful, so a lot of people don't take it seriously.
  2. Looks like a dud for almost everyone. Big swing and a miss on big rains and severe weather. Always skeptical of severe weather days when we are on the fringes of the slight risk area, when temps struggle and cloud cover sticks around, and when it's happening in April. Lot of red flags.
  3. On a lot of predicted severe weather days for our region, I feel like we end up with morning cloud cover that either never fully clears or clears for a very brief period and limits instability.
  4. I put my shovel away awhile ago and got out the paddle and canoe. Could be some nice rapids later on tonight.
  5. Cranky has 3 inches + sleet for almost everyone north of DC in a new map he just threw up on Twitter.
  6. Wow, awesome scene up in Bel Air. Legit caving of main roads.
  7. Ha, tons of people turning over to sleet and rain as HRRR keeps increasing totals. What a model.
  8. Hey, light steady snow here now with much bigger flakes and slowly accumulating on all surfaces except concrete! Just drop that temp a couple degrees and the sun angle and maybe we can get roads to cave.
  9. Flake size has suddenly increased significantly.
  10. I'm going to be real interested to see the temp/accumulation differences with this one with me and you.
  11. Light white rain here, but hopefully the fact I'm snowing now means the rain/snow line is south of me when the good stuff rolls in this evening.
  12. I usually think the CWG maps are lame and usually pretty conservative but, other than maybe being a little low up in Northern MD, unfortunately I think it's pretty good.
  13. Hoping for the best. You are much farther west than me though, so you are in a bit of a better spot.
  14. You guys up north look good. I think anyone in the purple or southwest of there in the darker blue should be good. I think anyone outside of the dark blue is likely to struggle, and I'm guessing the light blues and especially grays will ultimately end up with nothing but maybe bit of slop on the grass. Hope I'm wrong. HRDPS and RGEM and even the NAMs give me a lot of hope here, but I'm afraid it's false hope and TT algorithm doing it's usual crazy snow thing.
  15. Ha, I wish I could quit it. It definitely does drive you crazy, that's for sure.
  16. Ha, I'm literally 5 miles south from heavy snow.
  17. Good news for us 95'ers. Tony Pann's Deep Thunder is a beat down for the 95 corridor. LOL. Get your shovels and snow blowers ready.
  18. This feels so much like those storms where Cantore heads to DC or Baltimore and stands there as white rain falls and everything behind him is wet and it's a total bust. I'd be totally fine letting the NW crew get hammered with 6-10/8-12 with this one. I'm big dog hunting anyway, and this is like a 3-6 at best here, and it's probably not even that given the temperatures, timing and intensity.
  19. I just watched Bernie Rayno's periscope and he said he's been wrong about the storm and it's going to be south and east. He mentioned that these flat waves are tricky and said that Philly to Boston is in the 6+ now, but said the wave looks really weak and he thinks most places are going to struggle to get 6. The map he drew looked like NW of Baltimore up through New England got 6+. He mentioned DC and said maybe a couple inches there. Said we have to watch the strength of the energy today as it comes ashore but he's not impressed and knows a lot of people will be disappointed.
  20. Euro nudged closer. Need a few more nudges.
  21. Frustrating system. If it's too strong, it's rain. If it's too weak, it's snow but it's probably not much more than we've already seen. Need a perfect balance just to get a decent storm out of this. Maybe we pull it off. Would like to see the Euro budge here in the next couple of runs.
  22. Timing suddenly isn't great with onset midday Sunday. Push that back some.
  23. Anything out there to slow this down? I'm surprised the storm bombing in front of this one and moving into the 50/50 region isn't slowing this down and blowing it up more. 3K was definitely close for the cities.
