I'm sure a few people got smoked today, but looking at the radar around 11 am and ending up with the little I got was really surprising/disappointing. It looked like several hours of heavy rain and instead was maybe several minutes.
Ellicott City has been getting dumped on for a bit now. I really haven't gotten much rain here at all. Been thundering off and on for an hour. Big lull over 95 at the moment. Does look like a lot more backbuilding into Southern MD.
Had no idea. Took the kids outside to play for a bit and got down the block and heard a loud noise that sounded like thunder, but thought it could be a truck or something. Pulled up the radar and was shocked at what I saw. Needless to say, it looks like a monsoon heading our way and we scrambled back inside.
Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I just got home and was on 29 in Ellicott City and could see the lightning from the storms in Richmond area. Incredible!
Should get a nice, needed soaking out of this. Not sure much else though. Very little lightning with these and I'm not sure flooding will be anything but very isolated. Northern Harford is getting pounded, though.
Second batch seems to be building back to the southwest some and also expanding a bit in general as it progresses. Looks like 95 will get hit again. Yoda was right. Pretty active night.
Nice batch of storms to the northwest. Will likely miss mostly for 95 crew, but north and west people, and especially as you get into Southern PA, have had a quite active day. Southern PA has been the big winner past few days.
Oh, well I'm just looking at Baltimore-DC area. Obviously plenty of warnings if you start going way back into parts of Virginia outside immediate DC metro.
