  1. Nooooooo. Hearing the pinging now. Big flakes mixed with sleet. Pretty disappointing given that I was on the edge of the mesoscale bubble and HRR had me snowing for 2-4 more hours.
  2. My temp was 30 about a half hour ago or so and has dropped to 28 in this band.
  3. Literally right on the eastern edge of that pink cloud in the mesoscale discussion.
  4. The flakes have somehow grown in size. Tried to take my two-year old out and he was legit afraid of what was falling from the sky.
  5. It's SN+. Just started ripping here. Unfortunately, it looks like the changeover line is booking it north now and is literally right on the other side of this band.
  6. Just looking at the SPC mesoscale analysis, the low looks to be placed accurately right now. However, one thing I learned from Cranky about a way to figure out where the low is heading is to look at the kinks in the isobars. If that's accurate, this is going way east of where it is modeled. It would be much more of a northeast movement than the barely east of north modeled direction.
  7. It seems like it floods the area with warm air around 5-6 pm, but that's also about the same time the low does a weird jump north that I'm not sure is correct.
  8. That looks like it's going to be pouring snow for a few hours for us!
  9. Interesting to see the low so far east on the latest HRRR. It takes it almost ENE off Virginia Beach. Surprised we would still turn to mix/rain in that scenario. It does jump it back west toward Bethany, which I'm guessing is just a feedback issue.
  10. Moderate to heavy snow appears to be rolling through Ellicott City area soon! Really getting juicy to the south. Roads almost covered here.
  11. Flakes growing in size a bit. Radar looks great to the south. Looks like heavy bands of snow developing and heading this way, unless that's all sleet.
  12. Waffling between a light snow shower and some steadier light snow. Small areas of the street and sidewalk already caving!! Beautiful scene outside. Great to see the kids staring out in wonderment.
  13. The pace of flurries has increased in west Ellicott City. Almost a light snow shower at this point.
  14. For real! The low is really bouncing all over the place on HRRR. It's zig-zaging all over.
  15. FIurries have commenced here in West Ellicott City in Turf Valley!
  16. The low on the latest HRRR literally jumps slightly northwest from NC into southern VA.
  17. NAM looks awful for a lot of us. Drives in rain pretty far north. If nothing else, it will be really interesting to do a model comparison when this is over to see which one handled things the best. HRRR is pretty aggressive on the snow and ice so we will see if it scores a big win or big fail.
  18. My area is crazy. Verbatim I think I'm right in the 6-7 range but I could almost throw a rock northwest and hit the 12+ and drive 10 miles to my southeast and have 1-2 or so.
  19. Latest HRRR doesn't look quite as good. Seems like 3-4 hours of snow for most and then a flip. Not sure if it will give us backside love or not.
