  1. That band is still holding together. Not too far away now for us Hoco folks.
  2. Look at you fringing your own mother and father. That's cold.
  3. That band rotating down out of Harford is losing some of its punch. Hopefully it gets here.
  4. Flurrying, maybe a light snow shower if you are feeling generous. Nice flake size, though. Reminds me of the final moments as a big coastal is pulling away.
  5. Just some light freezing rain here right now. Had some sleet and freezing rain overnight as well.
  6. The latest NAM would seem to indicate that all we need is a 50-100 mile shift south to get a chunk of Maryland into heavy snow.
  7. Either he is being sarcastic, lives in NYC, or was looking at some run of the NAM that I'm unaware of.
  8. Yeah, that's about the best thing that can be said about the Euro. Otherwise, it's a total whiff. I'll hold out some hope maybe the HRRR starts trending our way and something weird happens, but I think we all know where this is going for Monday/Tuesday.
  9. Ha, yes they are. I just went out for a long run and pretty much the only people I saw were Amazon drivers and a couple shovelers and dog walkers. Timing of my run wasn't great. Was a lot of needles right in my eyes. Should have left a little earlier when it was ripping fatties. I'm probably closing in on 2 inches. If we can get things going through the evening like models showed, I don't see any reason why 4-6 won't verify.
  10. GFS is actually painful to look at when Philly and NYC are actually buried. That was supposed to be us. 2+ feet. We gotta catch a break at some point.
  11. The 12z GFS isn't awful. It gives us some snow tomorrow. It's still not enough to get big totals, but it should be wintry.
  12. I never understand why people outright dismiss the NAM. You can be skeptical of it, but all guidance should at least be considered and analyzed, not just tossed. Even the ICON. Maybe.
  13. Because the models are only wrong when they show snow and then it doesn't. When they don't show snow, you don't get a pleasant surprise, lol. Ripping good here in Ellicott City. Would love to see this intensity all day.
  14. One thing that always bothered me about this one was the trough orientation. It always seemed slightly positive to neutral and our big ones show the trough negative.
  15. I always thought the RGEM's biggest issue was it had a cold bias.
  16. I just don't get how the coastal low is going to develop so far south and we totally whiff. It's in a good spot for us to get crushed and similar to previous storms that crushed us.
  17. Exactly! Wasn't the formula for this that the less we got from Part 1, the better our chances for a big Part 2? Right? Anyone?
  18. In fairness, this winter has been barely better than last winter so far. I know we've probably gotten about 4 inches of snow this year compared to whatever last year was, but both winters have been awful. The good news is this winter is only half over and the last couple of weeks of February might hold promise.
  19. Was just about to say that. It's getting closer for us if you want to see snow, but if you want to see anything really accumulate, all the good stuff on all of those recent runs hasn't changed. It's all focused right around NYC.
  20. Snow picking up here now. Already the second best snow event this season, and almost certainly will be the best by mid afternoon. Still hoping models are just 50-100 miles too far north on the heaviest snow area and we can all get dumped on Monday.
  21. Just toggled back through the RGEM run and it really wasn't that far away from being really good again. The best bands get so close to pivoting over us and they either go straight west across PA or start to drop down toward us and then just don't quite make it much past the PA/MD border. The favored spots in Northern MD are still very much in the game.
  22. Doesn't look as good as earlier, especially now that the Euro and RGEM seem to be almost copies of each other, but there's still hope. That deform band is hard to pin down there's still over a day until it gets going.
