Icon seems like a long duration storm but must not snow very hard. Seems like light to steady snow.

Yeah I have noticed that trend over the past 24-48 hours. You can get a colder solution but precip is going to be less. You can get more amped but then mix and rain come into play. Hard to get a perfect track with these. That's why overrunning systems rarely seem to live up to the hype here.

NAM looks like spotty sleet and freezing rain. Not sure on temps but most falls during the day so.........probably just rain.

True, but let’s also not forget we we were supposed to have above-average precip for January and most of the area generally got a 6-8 inch snowstorm and that was about it outside of some very minor events.

The Eagles are definitely the better team, but the Commanders have the better player at the most important position on the field, and a lot of good vibes going right now. I think the Eagles are arguably the most balanced team in the league. As a Ravens fan, the teams that scared me were those with good lines on both sides. The Eagles were able to run on us and they gave our offensive line fits, which made life really hard on Lamar. I would just worry that Hurts doesn’t do enough with his arm and Daniels continues his hot play for a team that is riding high with a lot of confidence. I will certainly be rooting for the E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!

That's wild. Just shows how much luck is involved even if you have a pattern that looks like it should produce well. I guess that's why our inability to fluke into more snow events in bad patterns to offset that is not helping matters, but I guess I shouldn't go down that road lol.

True. If you had told me before the season that this is how December and January turned out, I probably would have taken it no questions asked. The fact that I'm so snow-starved and this season has not really acted like a true Nina gave me hope that maybe it would be that rare big hit, or even 2014-2015 esque, but that seems unlikely at this point. Missing completely on last Sunday's storm was rough.

Yeah, that was an incredible storm N&W. For 95, it was a really fun night if you stayed up all night, but it just drizzled the next day and a ton of snow melted. I went from about a foot or so down to less than half of that by the afternoon. And then it sleeted and eventually turned back to snow briefly. I low-key hate that storm because, ground truth when it was all done, NW got like 20 inches more than me.

As long as the AO and NAO are positive, the chances of a hit here are so, so small. Have we ever had a big storm from both of those teleconnections being positive?

If 2009 is the analog and next year we get 2010, I think we will deal lol.

Euro from last night looked pretty interesting. Not seeing much of a warm-up through the whole run with some shots at snow.

I really need to see at least the AO negative, if not the NAO as well, to get really interested.
