Not even wet under the bushes and cars. Total fail.
Yeah the pavement is wet but the bottom of my driveway under a tree is dry lol.

Congrats, Wilmington. Gotten a few drops here and that's it. Looks like I'll be doing some watering this afternoon.

Looks like all the good stuff is blowing up north and east of the Baltimore area in PA.

Noticeably clearer for first time all week, no acrid stench outside either. Tempt got down to 55 and now on rebound...AQI at nearby Mt. Vernon is 97. Looks like things will improve a bit today on HRRR: https://hwp-viz.gsd.esrl.noaa.gov/smoke/index.html
Maybe I'm missing something but it looks pretty bad to me and even looks bad tomorrow now.

CWG somehow gave this day a 5 out of 10. Should be a 1.

Our kids are in school until next Friday.
Wow that's really late. Ours until Wednesday, but the last three days are half days, and they had a half day this week as well. Gotta find any way possible to hit that required number of school days I guess.

The HRRR smoke products have been excellent at showing the extreme low-level concentrations across our area this morning. The model is showing a significant improvement later today for northern areas, as the heavy low-level smoke is shunted south before another wave of higher concentrations arrives during the late evening. Forecast for 5PM:
It really has captured it well. Seems like we get slowly better throughout the day, then it gets bad overnight and into tomorrow afternoon, and then hopefully from there it's a slow improvement going forward through the weekend, getting us back to near normal.

BCPS just cancelled some activities for today. No outside field trips, or recess. Will make a call later about after school stuff.
They were late to the party on that one. I know Howard cancelled all field trips and after school activities for today yesterday afternoon.

Baltimore now among the worst air quality in the world, seeping down to dc.
It's so gross out. Toxic, really. Ran yesterday morning and it wasn't great, but would not even consider attempting it today. I don't even want to step out there.

down to 160 AQI up here from earlier 195 this morning.
Definitely seems better now than earlier. I can't really smell it anymore. It was very strong this morning around 6-8 am.

Hey look, clouds streaming in from the nw on satellite. If you want boring weather, that’s the flow you want…kinda like how it’s been basically the entire year and then some.
Re smoke…caught the red sunset over the Catoctins yesterday and see a noticeable haze. Might actually be smelling occasional smoke as well. You give me temps in the 70's and 80's with a cool breeze and virtually no humidity all summer and I'll take my boring San Diego weather and enjoy every damn second of it.

The 6Z GFS is interesting and absolute deluge over the next week.

Different view of the same dust devil.
I saw one of those one time while on Route 40 in Catonsville. It was throwing stuff way up in the air and the sky was completely blue. My Dad and I was so confused by what we were seeing, but as I got more into weather, it made sense. It made it from one side of the road to the other and then disappeared. Super cool.
I was in Myrtle Beach last summer on vacation and saw a bunch of water spouts. They were wayyyy offshore, but there was a bunch of them that just kept popping up for like an hour.

The models seem to agree that Monday is a lost cause, but there is still a difference in how much of Sunday we can salvage.
Seems like a real forum-divider. Looks like a nice weekend and almost completely dry up here. Could be pretty wet for parts of VA Sunday-Monday.

Anyone have a clue about tomorrow morning's weather? We got two sporting events in the morning. The latest NAM looks awful, but most of the other models look to be either just some scattered light rain or nothing.

If that's Round 2 down near Richmond, it's gonna be a swing and a miss for us.

6z was a deluge though
Missed that. Was 12z any good? Really need that afternoon slug to be farther west and train over us.

True, but I was hoping for a more widespread stratiform rain all day.
Yeah, either the 18z or 0z NAM was a red flag on a big rain event today. Seem to have steady rain this morning, a break, and then mostly a miss from the really heavy rain and storms this afternoon.

Latest NAM looks lame.

12z HREF out of SPC soaks Delmarva and central PA tomorrow. Tries for a few 6"+ jackpots in those areas.
Give me some of that action.

Meso guidance really starting to up the ante for the Sunday system.
Nice, what's it looking like?

Looks like Friday and Sunday are trending to soakers and Saturday trending to pretty dry.

Euro really drying up, but other guidance is wet. Either the Euro is about to score a coup or is going to look like a fool.
I will trade a crappy weekend for a really nice soaking, but I'll be annoyed if it's like .75 inches of rain but just cloudy/cool/misty for most of it.

6z GFS looks like a complete washout the entire weekend.

Radar and NAM look good but latest HRRR finds different ways to almost completely miss me all day.
