  1. 92 here right now. Dew point is 64, so the humidity isn't terribly high today. Obviously hot, but it doesn't feel too bad out there.
  2. Yeah you never know. The late next week cooldown that the models are showing right now could disappear. Man it is so dry out there too. It has been about 2 weeks since we've had rain here. Awful. Hopefully we'll see something soon, but the activity the next 2 days will probably stay to the north. We probably have to wait until late Sunday into Monday for a better chance.
  3. I agree with SACRUS that we're probably gonna see a pretty good cooldown late next week, so I doubt it will go that long. I do think we're looking at a 10 day heat wave though here in NJ, as I mentioned a couple days ago. Humidity will lower early next week, but we should still hit 90 Monday and Tuesday. This heat wave probably goes through Wednesday. Very impressive to get 10 days in a row.
  4. 91 with a dewpoint of 67 here. Not quite as hot as yesterday, but the heat wave continues. Doesn't feel that bad out there.
  5. 93 with a dewpoint of 68 here.
  6. Maybe even a little longer than that. Doesn't look like much of a cooldown at all for early to mid next week. It appears we won't see any kind of halfway decent cooldown until the end of next week, so we could be looking at a 10 or 11 day heat wave here in NJ.
  7. It's up to 90 here right now as we get the heat wave started! Even though the temps don't look terribly impressive with this being an over the top warmup, I still think we won't have any trouble hitting at least 90 here every day this week. So this should still be a very long heat wave here just west of the city. And as bluewave said, we'll probably see some higher temps at the end of the week. The other day I said I didn't see any extreme 100 degree heat coming, but probably some mid 90s which obviously is still pretty impressive. I still think we'll see 95-96, maybe as high as 97 at the end of the week in warm spots. Maybe some storms as early as Friday? It won't be widespread, but some models are showing some activity on Friday now. We'll really be desperate for rain by the end of the week, so hopefully that'll happen. I'll be going outside to water the garden shortly. It's really dry out there and this is gonna be a rough week for gardens. Lots of watering will be needed. Let's hope we see at least some isolated storms for Friday and the weekend to help out some spots.
  8. As Stormlover mentioned, I'm talking this Monday. I think warm spots west of the city like my area and Newark could hit 90 and get the heat wave started tomorrow. We'll have to see about the timing of that front and if convection cuts it a little short, but it's possible that it can be an 8 day heat wave that goes through next Monday.
  9. I agree. For our area I think we'll top out at about 97 late week. I also think there's a good chance our area will hit 90 on Monday, so we could be looking at a 7 or 8 day heat wave. Mighty impressive.
  10. 83 with a dewpoint of 46 here right now. Perfect weather this weekend. Nice that we can squeeze in a couple beautiful days here this weekend before the long heat wave. I hope everyone celebrating has a great Father's Day tomorrow.
  11. Hopefully it will turn around eventually, but definitely not in the near future. We have to wait until next weekend at the earliest for the next chance. A lot of watering will be needed next week with no rain during the long hot stretch. Man it's really blowing up east of 95 right now. Frustrating that we're missing out on this event, but I'm glad some people are getting a nice rainfall this evening.
  12. Yep but the more recent runs did a good job showing the big rains just missing us to the south and east.
  13. Yeah I kept hoping the recent HRRR runs would be wrong about our area just barely missing out on the heavy rain, because obviously you never know with convection. HRRR did a good job though.
  14. Yeah I'm on the northern side of Piscataway, so I missed out. Just a little shower with the wind. Barely enough to wet the ground.
  15. There definitely were warning signs that this might happen. Plenty of model runs that showed the line falling apart before getting to our area, but then blowing back up just to the south and east. Only a moderate shower here. I'll be watering tomorrow ... very frustrating.
  16. Monmouth County is gonna get a lot of rain from this as well. The line falls apart for our area, but blows up to the south and east. Sucks.
  17. The last several HRRR runs have been giving our area very little rain with the line. Looks as if that's gonna be right. Some gusty winds, but it's really weakening and looking like it's just gonna be a moderate shower.
  18. Radar in PA does look pretty good. Keeping my fingers crossed that it holds together.
  19. 18z HRRR gives us a decent batch of rain late at night, well after the storm threat this afternoon. Who knows, but I hope we can pull off a decent soaking whether it's from a storm this afternoon or moderate rain at night.
  20. I am so ready for storms today. Let's hope we're not disappointed. It appears that it's gonna be a long time before we have another chance, so we really need today to deliver.
  21. Yeah it's good timing for Father's Day weekend. Comfortable temps and very low humidity. I still think we'll see some mid 90s next week, but the extreme 100 degree heat is looking unlikely for our area. Some of those earlier Euro runs were likely overdone. Bluewave did a good job explaining the reason.
  22. That was a very comfortable 4 day stretch with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, but now back to the well above average temps. It's 88 degrees here right now. Still feels pretty comfortable though with the dewpoint at 55. Nice day. We definitely want the higher dewpoints for storms tomorrow though.
  23. I hope we get hit hard tomorrow. It has been about a week since we've had rain, and if the Euro is right it's gonna be dry through the big heat next week with the next chance not coming until next weekend. We really need this rain.
  24. So this is going to end up being a very long stretch without rain if Friday doesn't work out. Models still showing storms with the front Friday, so hopefully we'll get a decent soaking. We're really gonna need it. Father's Day Weekend weather looks great. Nice warm temps in the low-mid 80s and very comfortable with low humidity. Dewpoints could fall to the high 40s. Enjoy that before the hot pattern settles in next week.
  25. I've always noticed the same thing with the vegetable garden. Rain water is a lot better than potable water. Obviously potable water will keep the garden going and in decent shape during dry periods, but it's not the same as getting rain. Especially during the spring when the garden is trying to get going, I always notice how much better the vegetable plants look in the couple days after a good rainfall. There's a significant growth spurt and they look much healthier. That doesn't happen after watering with potable water.
