84 degrees with a dew point of 55 here right now. Feels great out there. Nice to be able to work in the garden without getting soaked. Perfect summer weekend ahead. We'll probably hit 90 here, but it will be comfortable with dew points 55 to 60.
-
Enjoy the next few days then. Humidity will be much lower.
-
Not even a tenth of an inch for the week here. Very frustrating. Big bust since the Monday night through Thursday period was advertised as a wet period, but we know that storms in the summer tend to be hit or miss. NWS went way overboard with the 60% to 70% chance. This was like 2 weeks ago when there was a forecasted wet period that busted, but the difference that time was my area ended up getting lucky and got hit by heavy rain in the days after the forecasted wet period when there was only a slight chance. This time there won't be any chance at all with dry air in place for several days starting on Friday. I'll be watering the vegetable garden a lot.
-
A few small cells in western NJ. It's a slim chance, but I'm hoping we get something this afternoon.
-
So much for the rain this week. Looks as if we're down to just the very slight chance of a spotty storm for later today or tonight. Good chance we're gonna get through this whole hyped week with almost nothing. Awful. Lots of watering will be needed in the coming days. Our next chance doesn't come until next Tuesday or Wednesday. But like you said, it's nice that we'll have some beautiful weather to enjoy. Dew points down to the mid 50s Friday will feel great.

I see most of tonight's models have the batch of rain for tomorrow morning to midday mostly missing to the south and east, but it's gonna be close. With Thursday looking mostly dry now, I'm really hoping we see something decent tomorrow morning. It would be pretty bad to end up getting nothing this week after all the heavy rain forecasts, especially considering it will be dry for several days starting on Friday. The vegetable gardens really could use a drink. Hopefully tomorrow morning, but it looks very iffy right now.
-
Yep. Like we've talked about, big hyped heavy rain forecasts tend to bust and then we get hit when there's only a slight chance. That's the way it has worked out here this summer.
-
Only 0.06" here overnight. We'll have to see about the potential batch of rain for late tonight into tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll get some, but for this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon it's looking dry for most of the area. Activity with the front Thursday doesn't look impressive at all. I know Long Island got lucky yesterday and last night, but other than that this week is looking like a bust. As Dark Star said, it's looking like 2 weeks ago when the forecast was for a very wet week but we ended up getting very little. Right now I'm just hoping we have a little batch of rain early tomorrow morning that's just enough to give the garden a watering.
-
Yeah it's not looking like the big wet week that the models were showing a few days ago. Some spots getting lucky obviously. Some downpours to the north and out on Long Island tonight, but not much during the day tomorrow and right now the models have the round of rain for tomorrow night mostly missing to the south and east. There will be some activity on Thursday but it isn't looking that impressive. I hope we get a decent soaking before the dry weather settles in for Friday and the weekend, but it's certainly possible that we'll miss out since it's only widely scattered activity this week.

Hoping for a decent amount of rain this week since the soil has dried out again. The vegetable gardens could use a drink. Then looking forward to the big humidity drop at the end of the week with dewpoints going back down to the 50s for Friday and Saturday.
-
90 degrees, but it doesn't feel bad out there with the dew point down to 63 here.
-
No question about that. After several dry days, we'll be wanting some rain next week. Right now it appears that we have a good chance of seeing some showers/storms Monday night. Wednesday has been advertised as a stormy day, but I see the models backed off on that. Euro is dry for Wednesday now. Of course we have a ways to go to figure out the timing of the potential rounds of rain for next week.

It's funny how dumb the general public is with weather. Like in the winter when they say it's hailing outside when it's really sleeting.
-
Nice. I went to Readington to do some walking on trails. Perfect day to do some hiking. Of course I couldn't resist stopping at Polar Cub Ice Cream.
-
Very comfortable with the dew point down to 55 here. Sunshine and mid 80s this afternoon to go along with the low humidity ... a top 10 day of the year. I hope everyone gets outside and enjoys it.
-
85 with a dew point of 63 here right now. Feels quite a bit better out there today. Dew points will get down to the mid to high 50s tomorrow .... that's going to feel great.
-
I got 0.72" here tonight. 1.90 over the last 5 days. I agree, we've had enough rain and could use a drying out period now. Looks like a nice dry period the next 5 days with lower humidity and near normal summer temps. I'm looking forward to it. The high humidity with rain chances will come back on Tuesday. By then I'll be wanting rain again.

You predicted at least a half inch earlier, and that's gonna be a good call for my location. I just hit a half inch and it's almost over. Gonna end up a little over a half inch here. As Warlock said it was kind of meh. A solid heavy t-storm instead of severe, but it was nice to get a good soaking and see a pretty good lightning show. I see the southern part of the line strengthened and a new warning is out, so it is gonna be more severe for southern Middlesex County and Monmouth County.
-
I just had a very close lightning strike.
-
Pouring here too. Some lightning. Had some wind gusts in the 30s earlier. It's well below severe levels, but a nice storm.
-
Gusty here now and the rain has started.
-
Nice to have a pretty solid line coming in instead of the hit or miss stuff we've had this summer, even though the storms are below severe levels.
-
The most widespread activity is supposed to be way later. HRRR has it around 8 to 9pm. Hopefully the majority of the area will get hit then.
-
Latest HRRR hits us hard here around 8pm. Hoping to see a good storm tonight! I'm also looking forward to the nice break in the humidity. Dew points in 50s on Friday will feel great. That looks like one of the nicest days of the summer. Dew points will go up a little over the weekend, but I don't think they'll get back to the 70s until Tuesday. A nice break from the high humidity.
-
Hopefully tomorrow will be a more widespread event so most people can get in on the action.
