Odd that there was almost no lightning with the storm here. Not as impressive as it looked and radar and a very weak t-storm as far as wind and lightning, but the main thing is it poured. I got 0.62" from it. Finally a nice very heavy downpour that was enough to give the vegetable garden a good watering, so I'm satisfied.

Extremely heavy rain here too. Not much wind or lightning as you said, but the important thing is we're getting a good soaking.

No warning with that cell right now, but it's going to come down in buckets. I'm excited.

Yeah storms are strengthening in eastern Hunterdon right now. Radar looks pretty good for us right now.

The southern part of the line in PA looks a lot stronger than the northern part, but hopefully the northern part will pulse up as it moves east. Yesterday a lot of Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer and Middlesex got screwed and I'm hoping we don't see a repeat today. We really need some rain. Hopefully this line pulses up.

Most of the storms stay to the north and west for the afternoon, but then HRRR hits us hard around 8pm. Hopefully widespread activity.

I hope we do well today or tonight. The models look pretty good. Hopefully the heavy downpours will be a little more widespread than they were yesterday. Really could use significant rain ... it has been a few weeks since since I've gotten even just a half inch of rain here. I know it's looking encouraging for the week too, especially late week with potential heavy rain from Debbie. Hopefully this dry pattern is about to be busted.

Yeah just a shade too late for my location. That has happened several times this summer, but at least I got a quarter inch. That's a start.

Hopefully. HRRR says it's gonna fall apart by the time it gets here, but who knows.

Nice. I've noticed that has been a theme this summer with your area getting heavier amounts than mine. We haven't done very well overall, but when we have gotten storms the heaviest has missed me just a few miles to the south. It hasn't worked out well being in the extreme northern part of the County. I hope we can get a more widespread event where everyone does well. We had that one nice line that hit almost everyone a few weeks ago, but other than that it has been very hit or miss this summer with the heavy rain.

Nothing down in Atlantic City, but see I got a quarter inch here. Pretty meh but at least it was just enough to water the garden for the first time in quite a awhile. I see other parts of Piscataway got closer to a half inch. The heaviest missed me just a few miles to the south and east. I hope tomorrow's potential event is more impressive. I see from radar estimates that a lot of north-central NJ didn't do well today. The very significant amounts were well up in northern NJ.

I just got that 2 minute downpour from that same cell here. Anyway I'm going to Atlantic City today (leaving in about a half hour) so I won't be here to share in the excitement with you guys if our area finally gets hit by heavy rain later today, but I'll hope to come home late tonight to news that our area got hit. Boy do we need the rain. I'm glad we have another good chance this weekend. Having a good chance hasn't worked out for our area in recent weeks, but hopefully this time will be different.

It was just a very brief minor downpour here that dropped 0.05". Not enough to water the garden, but at least the ground is wet and I see puddles in the street for a change lol. It did drop the temp to 80, so some nice relief from the heat. I see there are a few more small downpours behind it, so hopefully we'll get some more.

95 degrees with a dew point of 67 here right now. It hit 98 earlier, but clouds brought the temp down. Hoping for a downpour, but I know it's only a slim chance today.

Lawns are starting to burn out again here after the very dry July, similar to what happened at the end of May. Then we got just enough rain in June for things to green up again. We'll have to see if we get enough rain for lawns to green back up here in early August, similar to what happened in June. I know rain chances are supposed to increase over the next week, but I'll believe it when I see it. We've had such bad luck.

Yep on the 14z run, but then the HRRR took away our storms on the 15z run lol. Who the heck knows. A few areas will get lucky this afternoon and evening, but too bad it's only isolated activity.
-
Yeah I'm not gonna get my hopes up too high for Friday into the weekend after what has happened the last few weeks. As Manda said, the lack of rain this summer has been very frustrating considering all the high humidity we've had. Storms this afternoon look spotty. I hope we get lucky with something but it's only a slim chance. I'll probably be watering the vegetable garden again.
-
I hope you're right. There definitely will be some activity tonight, but I'm not sure it's gonna be widespread. We'll see.
-
Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up too high after all the bad luck we've had lately.
-
Most likely nothing this afternoon, but it appears that some activity will be coming in around midnight tonight. HRRR looks decent. Very dry here, so I'm really hoping we get some rain. Overnight tonight looks like our best chance, and then just spotty storms tomorrow afternoon.
-
Like you said, we really need rain. I've been having to water a lot lately. Unfortunately it appears that there won't be widespread activity this week. A few pop ups this afternoon, and tomorrow afternoon most of the activity stays well to the west. Our best chance this week looks like late Tuesday night. Wednesday has been advertised as a stormier day, but much like last week I don't think that's gonna work out. I hope we get lucky with some downpours at some point this week, but I'm not very confident right now.
-
Yeah this past week was a huge bust for our area, similar to what happened a couple weeks ago when a hyped week delivered almost nothing. It's very dry out there, so I'm hoping we get some heavy rain this coming week as the high humidity returns.
-
Had a low temp of 62 here this morning. This has been a nice few days with the low humidity and cool nights. Dew point of 57 here right now, so the humidity still hasn't come up much.
