  1. Still just light rain here. Based on the way radar looked I thought I was gonna get hammered, but the storm in Somerset has really struggled to move into Middlesex and now a lot of it seems to be lifting north.
  2. That's quite a line of heavy rain to our south with training going on. We'll have to see if the models are right about new storms forming over our area in the next 1 to 2 hours. Looks like it should happen.
  3. Yeah that 13z run of HRRR is wild with training right across our area. It gives parts of Middlesex County over 6 inches of rain, but who knows if that's right. HRRR could be overdoing it and of course it's hard for it to tell exactly where the worst will happen. Obviously MAJOR potential for this evening though. Today looks much worse than the remnants of Debby for our area.
  4. We have a lot to get through to get there, but it looks like an amazing stretch of weather after Debby's remnants pass. Starting on Sunday, several sunny days with high temps in the 80s and low humidity. Looks like the best stretch of the summer.
  5. After the CMC cut amounts in half tonight, the Euro just came in more to the west and weaker with the remnants of Debby. It now gives a lot of area just 1 to 2 inches of rain for Friday into Saturday. We still should get a good soaking from it, but we seem to be trending away from it being a huge event that would cause a lot of flooding. Still a long way to go though. The main focus right now should be on later today/tonight anyway, as some of the mesos are showing potential for several inches of rain in spots that could cause significant flooding.
  6. 92 degrees here right now. It's a hot one today, but the humidity isn't terrible with the dew point at 67 here. After having such a hot summer, it's going to feel strange later in the week with ENE winds and high temps only in the mid 70s.
  7. We'll have to see if we're starting a west trend with the very big rain amounts staying to the west in PA. That's what I'm hoping for. A nice 2 to 3 inch soaking would be good, but I don't want a major flooding event around here.
  8. Had another downpour here as well, although not as impressive as the storm I had earlier. As you said, it just wants to rain now. The complete opposite of July when it just didn't want to rain. It's like we flipped a switch with the calendar change. I'm glad we had this good 3 day period. We really needed it after the very dry July. Probably a break tomorrow, and then more action on Tuesday.
  9. A quick half inch from that storm. Was cool to have a storm with strong north winds and the temp dropping all the way down to 70. I see a few more cells formed to the northwest, so we might not be done here.
  10. I wasn't sure if it was gonna get down to you. Very close. It's coming down in buckets here.
  11. Yep some lightning and strong winds. Heavy rain. For a change a storm that's hitting me here in the extreme northern part of the County but is missing you in Metuchen. Lately most of the storms have been hitting you and mostly missing me just to the south.
  12. Pouring now. Wind-driven rain with strong north winds.
  13. I'm getting into the southern part of that storm. Starting to rain here.
  14. If he was in Plainfield, but I think he's still to the west in Franklin Township so he's missing it.
  15. I hear the thunder and a very dark sky to the north. It's gonna go right over Plainfield, but I'm gonna be right on the southern edge of it here. Hopefully I'll get into it. Getting windy here now too.
  16. Here it was just moderate rain for a few minutes with that small cell. Not enough to give things much of a watering, but I got enough rain yesterday that I won't have to water today or tomorrow. Then with what looks likely Tuesday through Saturday, we probably won't have to water for quite awhile. It'll be quite a change from all the watering that was needed the last several weeks.
  17. Yeah it looks similar to that 2 minute downpour we had the other day.
  18. Not anything like yesterday, but some small downpours popping up in Hunterdon and Somerset. We might see something.
  19. I see lots of 1.5" to 2" totals in Middlesex County. Of course just a few miles to my south and east like usual. I ended up with 0.68". I don't know what it is that constantly causes the heavier storms to slip just to the south of my area here in the NW corner of the County. But at least I got almost three quarters of an inch, so decent. That seemed like a deluge after how dry it has been lately.
