  1. I am with you on this. I know some people point out that it's far from a drought and fall is here soon anyway, but some of us care about the growing season which goes through October. Still tomatoes and lots of other stuff in my vegetable garden producing, and now I have fall lettuce out there that will be producing through October. Of course watering will keep this stuff going, but it's always better to get some rain off and on. VERY dry out there right now and we really could use some rain. Hopefully next week but it's very questionable whether it will make it this far north.
  2. I hope this long dry stretch isn't gonna mess up the fall foliage season. Hopefully the rain next week will make it up here, but I'm skeptical that much will get this far north. I see 12z Euro does get it up to southern NJ. Very early obviously so who knows.
  3. Yeah it's frustrating. Lots of watering will be needed as we move through the late part of the growing season.
  4. 83 degrees with a dewpoint of 45 here. What a day. About as perfect as it gets.
  5. I see 12z Euro keeps it well to the south too.
  6. 81 here as we start a very long stretch of days with high temps in the 80s. 90 isn't looking likely, but temps well up into the 80s (probably 85 to 88) for Friday and the weekend.
  7. Yeah it just felt cool because we've gotten so used to WAY above normal temps.
  8. Nice that we can now simply give out a disagree emoji instead of those stupid hot dogs.
  9. Just a very brief shower here. Terrible. Very dry out there. Lots of watering will be needed. I have Romaine lettuce out there now for the fall. It's doing very well and almost ready for picking, but obviously hot dry weather won't be good for lettuce. I'll have to water it a lot to keep it in good shape during the dry hot stretch next week.
  10. I wonder if we have a shot at a heat wave here Thursday through the weekend. It's more likely upper 80s, but hitting 90 isn't out of the question.
  11. Radar starting to look a little better. Latest HRRR (15z run) gives our area some rain. There's still hope that we can see a little downpour that delivers a quarter to half inch. We need a watering.
  12. Starting on Tuesday, it looks like high temps in the 80s until further notice. Warm weather pattern.
  13. HRRR looks decent for tomorrow. It definitely isn't going to be a significant event, but we'll have a humid airmass in place and there could be some downpours that deliver a quarter to half inch. Looks pretty early during the afternoon too. Very dry out there right now and we have a very long dry period after tomorrow, so hoping to get a decent watering.
  14. Yeah it's not looking great. At this point I would be happy to get a quarter inch, just enough to give the vegetable garden a decent watering.
  15. It's going to be rough if we don't get a decent soaking Saturday. Long dry period after that. Lots of watering will be needed next week as we warm up.
  16. After the quick cool shot Sunday, the warmup next week is looking more and more impressive. We might see mid 80s here as early as Tuesday, and likely highs in the mid 80s the rest of the week. Summer returns.
  17. Yeah it looks like the type of pattern in which we'll see significantly above average temps for mid to late September (highs low to mid 80s for our area) but not major heat. It's long range though so obviously it's tough to predict right now. Anyway before then I'm enjoying this refreshing weather we're having early in the month. It got down to 48 here last night, and we have another nice cool shot coming for Sunday into Monday.
  18. Feels amazing out there with the dewpoint at 40. That with sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s makes this an easy top 10 day of the year.
  19. Sun came out and quickly popped the temp up to 80 here. Warm and humid. Still gonna be a lot of clouds this afternoon though which will probably limit us to a high temp of 83 or 84.
  20. Yeah on most models right now the heavy action in PA weakens to just showers by the time it gets to our area Saturday night. Latest RGEM does hold it together enough to give us around a quarter inch. It is going to be very humid and maybe the models will beef it up a little bit as it gets closer. We'll see. We could use some rain here.
  21. Only 0.04" here overnight. Hopefully we'll get some decent rain Saturday night into Sunday morning. The vegetable garden could use a drink. After that our next chance probably won't come until next Friday or Saturday.
  22. I see the Euro increased rain amounts and also lingers some showers until early afternoon Sunday now. It has been looking mostly like a Saturday night into Sunday morning event, but hopefully it won't mess up Sunday afternoon. The one sure thing about the holiday weekend is Monday will be great. Dew points will fall to the 40s Monday afternoon.
  23. Just got back from Seaside Heights and yeah, I see the heavy stuff missed just to the south. Heavy storm went through central Middlesex County. Looks like we got a little bit of a downpour here though as I got 0.17". I was glad that the activity didn't make it down to Seaside Heights, so the fireworks show was able to go on.
  24. Next week looks spectacular. A decent cool shot to start the week, but I also don't think the week overall is looking as cool as it did a couple days ago. I think we quickly moderate back to low 80s for mid to late week. Near normal temps will feel great with low humidity.
  25. At least last winter was an example of how we can get lucky and get a decent amount of snow in a very warm winter. Our area in Central Jersey got over 20 inches of snow. Not bad. Hopefully we can pull that off again if we have another very warm winter.
