Honestly 8" of snow, 1" of sleet and a quarter inch of ice is pretty HAWT, i would definitely take that as a worse case scenario.

Nobody is discrediting it, but i won't be concerned that this is the final outcome until the Euro and Ukie start showing it. Regardless it's still a great storm, just not the 20" some people thought we were getting.

Agreed, what’s to say it doesn’t jump back the other way tomorrow. At 12Z you thought the storm was gone if you saw the GFS, look where it is now.

I definitely agree with you, but I don’t understand why you assume it’s going to keep happening. It is slightly concerning because it’s the Ukie which i believe has the second best verification numbers, let’s see what the Euro says in 45 minutes.

Whenever it snows a ton Amtrak is a complete disaster. They either cancel the trains outright or they get delayed for an obscenely long time.
