My one big hope that will come from this is a much better sick leave policy for every worker no matter what they do. Part of the problem is how insistent our culture is to work when sick and not stay at home. Some have no choice because of lack of paid sick leave. This epidemic has shown that it takes very little to spread from one to many. As a business, especially food related, it should make you rethink an employee sick leave policy. Losing customers because you didn't let John or Juan stay home with a fever has got to be more expensive than paying the guy to sit at home until he is better.

The concern now will be getting people to understand that even if numbers drop due to social distancing we have to keep doing that to not have a repeat spike and be back to square one.

That same resiliency you speak of will be what pulls us out of any economic crisis we deal with while trying to stamp out the virus. We are getting great leadership from our two local governors and mayor in DC. That can’t be argued. I’m just glad they have done what they have to help ALL the citizens in each location

The grown ups are sometimes worse. Had a video meeting for the pool board I'm on. One member decided to go do a couple things while it was going on so we got a tour of the house. Other stories of people taking a dump and more while on these video chats. Thats why you never schedule early morning ones. Too many have BMs to do.

And as far as groceries. I've taken out two loans both times I've gone. $300 each time. And I am getting nothing but crap food. Some of it has been based off availability. Like last week all that was left in meat was meatloaf mix and chicken feet. This week i got ground beef and breasts. But TP still gone as was every pasta known to mankind. I had my own hand sanitizer I took the first time and used it like whoa. the second time I wore gloves the entire time and put the groceries away myself. Gloves were then thrown into the wash. They were cotton gloves. It was only me and the cashier that handled the food. Gotta trust that the cashier was healthy.
