Went out of my way to avoid this place yesterday and looks like it was a good call. JFC.
Yes this was a pretty bad bust given the modeling most of last week. 2” when I was hoping for only 4” as minimum stinks. But it snowed. I saw snow falling most of the day. It made things look nice and I got more snow yesterday than the last two winters COMBINED.
So it was all about enjoying what fell. That’s what I did. Didn’t care about the newest NAM or GEM or whatever.
Sure I’m disappointed. Wanted more. Said all week that we needed X to happen and not Y like so many wanted. Well we got Y. And that always spells doom for not only my area but a lot of others.
But gonna just get on with things because in the end it’s weather and I have as much control over that as I do a cat on cocaine. Still rooting for the people I like to get as much snow out of this as they can. That’s where I’ll get my joy.
Where the CCB sets up I can see it transporting winds down like a tropical storm. I seem to recall in 2016 that the banding coincided with heavy snow and gusty winds.
I don’t recall damage as much as everything was just a sheet of ice. It was more sleet than ZR so trees and power wasn’t crushed.
Frozen water meters OTOH were a huge issue.
Coldest week ever I can remember in my adult life as far as working in it
I get up at the ass crack of dawn regardless of day. But I enjoy my drinks these days as opposed to GET IN MY BELLY.
Almost 32°. Still mostly clear skies
This is why I root for a 50-50 first then second. I don’t need a bomb polar cyclone for part 2 nor a primary on PEDs into Lake Erie.
half from front end thump, half from backside love. Too messy when you get more one side or the other
