Mid-Atlantic forum winter 2021/22 snow totals thread
H2O replied to North Balti Zen's topic in Mid Atlantic
I have had snow OTG in some way shape or form since Jan 3. To be 1/4" under DCA climo(its what I use for MBY) and it just hit the middle of Jan is freaking awesome. The last two years were so bad for my hood. Missing north, south, east and west. This is why the joy of seeing ANY snow fall is something I wish for everyone. I'll take it. From .5" to 30(that won't ever happen but I can dream). Life means taking what you can get when you can get it cause you never know when it might be your last. And being miserable over it sucks the joy out of life. But that said, if you dare come to try and steal my snow in the middle of the night just give me a heads up and I'll help load the truck. I know a house you can "borrow" from cause they never give out good halloween candy. And then after we can have a beer(me) and whatever you like to have while laughing over Vice Regent getting more snow than Ji one time. -

Thursday 1/20/22 Stat Padder Discussion and Observations
H2O replied to stormtracker's topic in Mid Atlantic
smallish post for the smallish threat thread -
14 penalties will kill any team in the playoffs But damn, that ending was hilarious.

High temp of 40 overnight and a current temp of 33.6. A few flurries falling as well. Most of my snow melted/washed away but it’s whatever. The snow that fell made things look awesome

Sweet! I would normally say hang onto whatever frozen precip you can get. But I know your lack of affinity for ice pebbles. At least for a few hours it was gorgeous out. Especially at night

Being unhappy with things you can’t control isn’t how I want to live. Life teaches you that there are more important things than snow. Why not just enjoy what happens and celebrate it with others? It is much more fun that way. It is so much more a joy to take what comes and make it fun for all. The small things and moments become fond memories that last longer and you appreciate them more. You def get it and that’s why each event can be just as special as big ones

2”. It was snowing nicely most of the afternoon but was pixie dust and didn’t pile up super quick. It coated fast but took a while to cover things up. Was some blowing snow as well. Im happy as hell with it. 3 snows in January. I’m like 1” below climo. After the last couple winters this is awesome

Snow then sleet and now something that’s still frozen? On a Sunday? With booze? Hell yes
 -
Snow/sleet mix. 2” snow tho Temp slowly rising. 24.7
 -
Can I put my sleet obs here so I don’t make Leesburg mad at me? Asking for a friend
 -
Fatter flakes coming down so flip will be here soon. Don’t care. Love the snow that’s fallen so far
 -
It’s a hell of a lot darker out too. Angle of the dark increasing
 -
Sweet SN right now. Just so pretty to see. Winds def still with a N component. Temp holding 23.2/21 Over 1”
 -

Connecticut Ave knew you made this thread. That’s why it’s not caving
 -
A glass with liquid in it. But that’s not important right now
 -
Rum and coke and it’s making everything warm and cozy on a cold day
 -
Only measured .5” but it’s such a fine powder snow. Everything covered and mod snow Booze, football, Caps hockey and iPad. Loving this
 -
Same thing here. Temp was 23.7 when snow started. Once rates picked up it has fallen and now 22.0. The longer we have that the better
 -
CC radar def shows the sleet line down near RIC but isn’t blasting N just yet. It’s moving but I hope it’s slower than modeled
 -
Mod snow and grass is slowly caving. Overachiever storm IMO.
