  1. Wasn't expecting to wake up to moderate snowfall! I'm not sure how much more we have received
  2. Got just over 1.5 inches and coming down strong! Currently 26
  3. Sitting at 3" so far on the southern plateau. Definitely plan to make a trip to Fall Creek Falls this weekend! You can see waterfalls everywhere in the Sequatchie valley where the plateau dumps onto the bluff lines, its honestly magical haha
  4. EURO and GFS Ensemble runs to 10 days. Most of this is the 19th system, but euro has a few hits for this Sunday that add to the totals.
  5. GFS keeps shifting the heaviest axis north. Euro as well, albeit not as much movement The creeks are so low down here in SE tn, not sure if that has anything to do with MRX holding off. Nice soaking rains so hopeful for that initial entraption can keep it flooding under control.
  6. Currently 36 up here, hoping to see a little sleet with this next batch coming thru.
  7. Yeah not liking the look of this, though we are still super dry Current Conditions GFS/ECMWF 7 Day Ensembles 7 Day
  8. Apologies for the overload gents. I disregard the GFS for reasons EURO Ensembles - 240 Hrs \ GFS Ensembles - 240 Hrs EURO Ensembles - 360 Hrs GFS Ensembles - 384 Hrs Euro 360 - 90th Percentile Euro 360 - 10th Percentile GFS 354hr- 90th Percentile GFS 354hr- 10th Percentile
  9. In all seriousness, man the long range sure wants to load up the upstream/front range with extreme cold poised to dump our way again in Feb. Maybe we get a little SER to push against and slow down the stall line? idk what I'm talking about, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night so
  10. MODIS Aqua 1-20-25 https://ge.ssec.wisc.edu/modis-today/index.php?satellite=a1&product=false_color&date=2025_01_20_020&overlay_sector=false&overlay_state=true&overlay_coastline=true&sector=USA7&resolution=250m
  11. Currently 3.9° with a windchill in the negative teens! Coldest it's been since the December 2022 cold snap Picked up a little more fine powder overnight for a grabd total of 1.5", roads are super slippery!
  12. Definitely have not warmed at all with the sun peaking out, currently 22 with a brutal wind! Snowfall has not stopped but isn't adding much, currently have about 1 inch.
  13. Just started getting moderate snowfall, tiny flakes. Coating every surface quickly, kinda thought roads would be spared haha We still have a couple deep spots of snow, had a snowball fight with my son yesterday.
  14. Dang, that sucks. Supposedly they are doing this to "hub" their local weather forecasts from the main TWC headquarters in Atlanta to save money... https://www.newscaststudio.com/2025/01/17/allen-media-meterologist-layoffs/ Here's the affiliated stations from Allen Media website, no idea how this would correlate to fired local forecasters.

  16. Those are awesome pics @Uncle Nasty! I love it up here, it's truly a hidden treasure. I find we average 10-12° cooler in winter (other than really cold lows) and around 15° in summer with a never ending breeze. Looks like you will have a front row view of the hangliders too! It's amazing how high above the brow they will get I have struggled myself finding a good builder in this area, being relatively remote. There's a new high end subdivision near me with 6+ houses under construction (snowy meadows), ill try and get their info and PM you.
  17. We ended up just shy of 7, 2 inches of powder on top of a crunchy ice sheet Been plowing our main road for the last 6 hours, nearly passable with 4wd. Chains are a must
  18. Absolutely pouring small flakes currently, may be the heaviest snowfall so far! "Older" snow layer from earlier today is well protected by a layer of ice, this is gonna have some staying power!
  19. Im on the plateau west of Soddy Daisy, about as high elevation as you can get outside the cumberland mountains/frozen head. Misting freezing rain, currently 23.7
  20. just switched to freezing rain with occasional sleet, happened as soon as the bright banding from correlation coefficient passed over
  21. Over 5 inches! Goose feathers just pouring, can't see my steps from walking in it 3 hrs ago. Temp slowly dropping since 11, made it to 25, currently at 23 with 22.5 DP Between Dunlap-Soddy daisy
  22. Sorry bud, that sucks! Atleast it'll stick around for a while. I'll toss some of the first snow flakes in the freezer to preserve for ya All kidding aside, hope for a quick recovery!
  23. I live off 111 and Lewis Chapel at 2100 ft Msl. Currently 24 and have about 4 inches, moderate sized flakes and some of the heaviest snow I've ever seen 0 road treatment in Bledsoe county, had a couple neighbors leave around 7am and 0 chance they make it back without walking Look forward to a fellow weather weenie on the mountain!
