  1. We had around an inch here near Princeton.
  2. With all that activity, my little rain gauge shows only 0.3". I'll take it.
  3. A nice summer day. Didn't think they made them this way anymore. Got .35" this AM around or just before 5AM. Thunder woke me up, but the line passed through much more gently than what it looked like at 1 or 2 AM.
  4. Line has passed through Princeton area, much weaker than earlier radar indicated. Back to bed for a bit.
  5. Got about 1.8" where I am - a few miles away. That system just wouldn't budge.
  6. Got about 1.8" from that system, most of it toward the end. Definitely moving out now, and maybe weakening? Some places seem to have gotten more, by the radar. More tonight and tomorrow.
  7. Getting a good hit down here at last. We need it.
  8. I'm happy that we are getting this soaking at last. Good luck, especially in PA, which missed most of the last event, such as it was.
  9. Hmm - I am located at the NW corner of the Hwy"1" marker. Near the top of the area. Sorry but my software is old. I suspect that any tornado would be located further east. We'll see. . . Added: The storm was a real quick hitter. Sun was shining again in minutes, at least at my location.
  10. Hail and thunderstorm passing through here right now.
  11. Jan 26 2011 gave us a stemwinder of a storm. Here's the morning after in Central NJ:
  12. Oh - I was just joking. Sorry about that. Methane is many times more potent as a greenhouse gas, as you know, so I was making an ironic joke. It's all bad, which is your point, of course. Pardon my incoherence. Am too old for this stuff. You know, as a kid, we burned coal gas, which was part H2 and part CO. Gasp. Kept the house warm overnight by burning kerosene. Lots of house fires too!
  13. Meanwhile, I feel better running the gas heat. CO2 is better than Methane. Lol.
  14. At least you are not an Anti Natalist. I did read that New Yorker article you cited some time ago. Makes pessimism seem like Pollyanna. I am primarily Buddhist-Advaitist, and that helps. Even Christianity, if you filter out the anti semitism and anti sexuality. Jesus was not a Christian, after all. But I do go on . . .
  15. Meanwhile, the sun itself is slowly warming, but slowly enough to give us maybe one more chance at doing it right. Hope springs everlasting.
  16. These are positive feedback processes, as we all know. The liberation of methane has never been taken seriously enough, but now at least it is being addressed. We're in for a crisis, but I'm convinced that humanity will survive, and be the wiser. All obvious statements, but I felt it worth expressing.
  17. 0.42" overnight. 4.68" total since rain began.
  18. 1.91" of new rainfall. It's adding up, on a miserable day. Give me Indian Summer, please. It will be better, now that the soil is better moisturized. Maybe a good Fall Foliage season after all. edit: 4.26" for the event so far - but my dinky rain gauge is on the West side of my building, as far as possible out of the rain shadow. More coming, I'm sure. - edit - final ..08": total is 4.34.
  19. 1.46" since then. Still coming. Here overlooking the D&R Canal in W Windsor.
  20. Another 0.1" with this one. Nickels and dimes add up, but pennies? Looking forward to a nice but not severe coastal someday soon.
