    I had ripsticks, and now have Volkl Blaze 94's. Light, turns easily, and can go kinda fast and straight. Nice all mountain old guy ski.

    Based on no science at all, I expect cold and dry once the rain finishes later this week.

    In a light rain, it's probably OK. They are air cooled, so any cover needs to allow air in.

    Probably not. But then again, not all storms show up correctly on models two weeks out, with the exception of cutters a day or two before Xmas.

    PF or anyone with experience in the ski world... My 18 yo son has decided that after his first semester of college that it's not for him. He's dreaming of heading out west to find a job at a ski area. I'm not excited, but I get it. Is there a NNE resort that would be a good place for a young kid to try this?

    Eastern CT has a ton of power outages and road closures. There was/is a ton of rain outside NYC. Henri did some decent damage for TS, just not as widespread as predicted. Or I'm just a weenie. Could be both.

    Just saw Mt Hope river is around 10.7', and 7' is flood stage. Higher than 1955, and highest since 1938.

    Mt. Hope river runs along 89 just north of 44. Schoolhouse Hill is just a few miles from me. Never seen anything like that, even in 2006. Crazy stuff.

    There are a few roads closed including 44 near 74 in Ashford and 197 along with some side roads in Eastford. Looking not good if we get another inch or so overnight.

    Yup. Just cracked 4" since midnight and closing in on 10" since July 1...about 20 miles from Tolland as the crow flies.

    Now up to 3.75" on the day and still pouring.
