  1. I just looked at it. I am rooting for it here! lol If nothing else, it has been consistent for sure. Currently 35 here and cloudy.
  2. Knox County has a pretty brutal cutoff on the HRRR and latest NAM. The city itself is almost the dividing line. A scenario where the northern part of the county could get 2 to 4 inches and the southern part a dusting. However, the GFS and RGEM are generous to all in the county (and the eastern valley). Really curious to see what plays out as it officially nowcasting time. Rooting for the latter for us all!
  3. Was this the year we had multiple snow and ice storms? I seem to remember a storm (big and small) nearly every week. I wanna say this was the year that snow and ice was on the ground for what felt like the whole month of February.
  4. Wow, pretty consistent with a lot of the members on 18z GEFS. Looking like low odds of a complete whiff. Great model agreement in general. Feeling good about this one!
  5. That Euro snow map seems unlikely? Like just a weird look, I can not remember too many events where the valley does better than other areas.
  6. According to the Mrx discussion, they are currently not buying the GFS solution. Looks like they are thinking it will play out more like the Euro/Canadian in regards to Thursday/Friday.
  7. Nice! So seems pretty accurate. Curious what the school situation will be tomorrow.
  8. Yeah pretty accurate for me too, with an inch and a half total. Can anyone in East Knox county confirm those higher totals?!
  9. Still have some lingering flurries here. Not adding to the totals, but makes for a nice scenic winter morning.
  10. Measured an inch and a half here in Knox. Everything covered except the road. Pretty, but definitely didn't need the warning!
  11. Just curious: does the cold rain actually help with the ground temps? Seems like it would, but I don't know.
  12. Yes, pretty similar! I know they don't offer a whole not now, but it is encouraging that the trends are going up as opposed to down for sure. Seems like opposite is more of the norm.
  13. The lastest nam looked like an improvement for eastern areas. Less downsloping and a slightly quicker changeover.
  14. Got clouds moving in multiple directions here in Knox. High clouds from west to east and low clouds moving from south to north and even some coming from southeast to northwest. I don't know what that means or if it means anything in regards to this system, but thought I would share this observation. Pretty odd looking up at the sky right now. Hope everyone stays safe!
  15. I am with you and Stove on this one. If it keeps showing a storm, I am gonna expect a sloppy dusting until the ground shows otherwise. This year:
  16. It's been a fairly average winter here in Knoxville. Got about 4 inches at Christmas, 1 last night and a handful of Dustings. Probably puts us pretty close to seasonal average. But way better in comparison to past couple years for sure!
  17. Could the tennis and ping ponging on models be due to struggling to recognize p-types?
  18. I think I remember that. I was in JC and it was like 50 degrees but up near Kingsport they had snow. It was like a super heated line up the spine of the Apps and the foothills immediate to them. My parents in Anderson county had a few inches and Knox saw snow. It was almost like a mini cad event in the valley. Cold air banked up against the plateau. It was a odd storm. I remember it vividly because I was pissed at getting blanked. LOL
  19. My goodness, if that verifies and it then rains a bunch it is gonna be a mess.
  20. Maybe for the potential flash freeze? It is pretty wet. Don't know if the wind will dry it up before the cold though.
  21. Was sprinkling here at the house at 33. Some stations at 32 here in the valley.
  22. GFS looks like the cold air is a little further east. Starting to creep into the valley on Tuesday morning.
  23. Is there any chance that ice could fall as sleet, snow, or mix? Anything else is better than ice. Or any chance it could cut north? Would rather a cutter than ice.
  24. Kind of nervous about temps here in the valley and dry slotting. Not really feeling it to be honest. Seems any time I have to worry about that it means some snow TV and a patchy dusting at best. I would love to be wrong but climatology usually wins at the end of the day. Mountains and plateau will get theirs.
