  1. Visiting Deep Creek Lake for basically the first time (stopped in once in the fall 10 years ago). Any suggestions of scenic/photogenic/natural places to visit? I have DCL SP, Herrington Manor, & Swallow Falls on my list to visit. Also potentially Coopers Rock & Blackwater Falls too.
  2. Thanks! Appreciate the info been dealing with the storm frying the ONT terminal for FIOS.
  3. This was the strongest and most damaging storm that I have ever witnessed in my area in Pasadena. At least 10 times worse than the derecho. Over 2 dozen trees knocked down on homes and cars in my neighborhood and another community. I saw at least 5 homes marked unsafe for entry by county inspections. I haven't ventured further down Fort Smallwood where there is even more destruction.
  4. Was there a severe thunderstorm warning for Anne Arundel when the storm hit?
  5. Extensive damage throughout my neighborhood. Over 20 separate homes with trees laying on them. Trees down everywhere. Telephone poles snapped in half. Neighbors keep saying a tornado went through the area. Luckily no damage at the house but no power.
  6. Strong storm moving through Northern Anne Arundel. Pretty fierce winds right right now. My spot usually doesn't get such strong winds.
  7. Rainy couple days in Pasadena: 7/4: 1.25 7/5: 1.29 7/6: 0.26 7/7: 0.29 7/8: 0.07 7/9: 0.46 Total: 3.63
  8. Another strong storm for Northern AA. Constant thunder/lightning. 1.26 so far. Rain was pretty heavy at times 1 inch in less than 30 mins.
  9. Thanks, I tried that and the power disconnect button too near the unit.
  10. Intense storm yesterday for northern Anne Arundel. Rain total 1.25. Power surged twice and somehow made the air conditioner stop turning on. Great!
  11. About a dozen so far of fire calls for separate trees or wires down in the Severn and Glen Burnie areas.
  12. High of 101.4. impressive being so close to the Patapsco River.
  13. Thundered a few times tonight but no rain so far.
  14. Might be a little far (maybe 15-20 mins) from Columbia but... Mt. Pleasant (Howard Conservancy) (https://howardnature.org/mt-pleasant/) visited there once last summer and it had some nice trails/wildlife. Shrine of St Anthony (https://shrineofstanthony.org/grounds) has some nice trails in the woods. Very scenic views of the countryside (especially in the fall).
  15. Tree down on an apartment building in Glen Burnie. Significant damage to 3rd floor with occupants displaced.
  16. Clouds and fog at 830 am kind of set the stage for the severe potential was going to be low and rain showers at 11 made it known. Afternoon "storm" was meh. Actually was more windy in the morning then when the storm came through. No lightning or thunder. 0.31 for the day.
  17. Sleet started to mix in at 1115 and mostly snow now. Temp 37.
  18. The fog the past week made for some interesting times for photos!
