  1. Absolutely disgusting mix of rain, sleet and a couple snowflakes here and there right now in SEMO. Just vile and coming down pretty hard.
  2. Setup for that one is a lot simpler. Just a question of whether the cold will sink as far south as it's been projected to sink for... awhile!
  3. Verbatim the 6z GFS has snow falling for 24 hrs straight IMBY for the Fri-Sat storm. Kuchera gives me 22” of digital snow. Even the 10:1 says 18” I swear if this rug gets pulled out from under me..
  4. It’s all real knife-edge stuff for us in SEMO as well as all the models show near-misses with us getting a couple inches while the central part of the state is blasted into nuclear winter. But as they say elsewhere on the boards, we got the cold coming and the moisture will be there… “just happy to be in the game” at this point.
  5. Well that drive back home was more of an adventure than I expected, especially in the van with all the kids in the car. Definitely WWA criteria hit in Jefferson and Ste Gen counties just south of STL
  6. Well she has come in a bit juicy in this part of the country. Wasn’t supposed to start until 7 or 8. But started going around 4:45 local time. Y’all won’t lack for QPF..
  7. Snow TV here in SEMO. About to head up to STL on a bit of a drive this evening. Don’t expect roadways to be a problem. Still well above freezing
  8. King Euro needs to come through for us in SEMO. Don't like what the GFS has been selling.
  9. Can we please push this all about... 50 miles to the southeast? I won't be greedy.
  10. 18z coming in fairly decent for tomorrow and overnight into Saturday. I'll certainly take an upgrade from snow TV to maybe a coating. Real fun begins next week.
  11. 18z GFS makes tomorrow/Sat morning into a nice little table-setter if it can verify. No one is gonna throw away an inch or two even before the pattern sets up!
  12. 18z GFS splashes my neck of the woods with a half-inch tomorrow evening, up from snow TV in most prior runs. I'll let you folks know how she's coming in as she steers across the middle of the country. Rooting for y'all to get a hit after a very disappointing winter last year. Good luck!
  13. Lock that up and throw away the key for northern MO and the Chicago area. For me? I say shove that pink south about 150 miles.
  14. Just imagine if DC ended up like Tulsa did..
  15. Folks who are getting the stuff that hit southeast MO overnight and into this morning (we're starting to taper).. you're gonna like it. Probably a good 5-6" here, WSW criteria actually verified for once!
  16. From the heart of the storm out here in SE MO. A view from my WFH home office's front porch
  17. Still snowing at a good clip here along the Mississippi. Roads seem to be okay thanks to repeated plowing and marginal temps. Hope a spotter stayed up in the middle of the night and took good measurements. All the compacting from this heavy slushy snow makes it impossible for me to be accurate. Should make for lovely pictures after sunrise though!
  18. It really has been remarkable. Absolutely rock solid for DAYS with only minor shifts. Memphis Low track was snuffed out late last week and hasn't budged.
  19. NWS STL slaps a WSW in my backyard. You love to see it.
  20. Last two runs of the GFS have been what we are looking for. I would feel more confident with a colder antecedent airmass though. It’s real “stay on target” vibes here on out…
  21. Got a dusting overnight here. Now a fresh mix of very light snow/sleet. Last wintry gasp until the torch trend begins
  22. It’s almost noon… and the temps have just now risen above zero. Wind chill -20
  23. Maybe 2” fell here south of STL?! I was hoping for more but not expecting it. Full tundra/Dakotas effect here. Like someone poured a giant bowl of sugar on the ground. I doubt a single flake is left on any roof given the wind last night.. and somehow that and the cold knocked out the Internet and phones at the local hospital -6F right now and wind chill is -27F.
