  1. Back to Snow+ in Haymarket. Hearing reports of a lot of accidents in WPWC.
  2. Just took a quick run out to the library, roads have deteriorated very quickly. James Madison HWY (Rt 15) with 2 accidents in 1.5 mile stretch. Moderate snow and 32.
  3. Neighborhood roads have caved in Haymarket. Meatballs falling from sky and 33F
  4. Sunshine this morning with clouds starting to move in from the SW. 27/21 in Haymarket.
  5. I have been enjoying a book (and some bourbon) since hearing the pingers and I was pleasantly surprised to just see that there are big fatties falling from the sky.
  6. Sleet is pounding loudly on the House here in Haymarket.
  7. A lot of heavy rain in Haymarket today. Slightly over 2 inches on the day, but zero wind and zero lightning. A bit of a boring day.
  8. Temp has definitely dropped in last 30 minutes. Bigger flakes and actually sticking to some surfaces (mulch, patio furniture) in a Haymarket.
  9. Had been mangled flakes mixed with rain for the last 30-45 minutes in Haymarket, but now snow is starting to dominate the mix.
  10. SN+ now in Haymarket as the snow has beaten the IP in the last 5 minutes. Big, heavy flakes falling.
  11. First snow plow came through about 10 minutes ago and the road is already covered again. Flake size not as large as it was about 30 minutes ago, but it is still pouring snow in Haymarket. Definitely nearing 3 inches, but will measure at top of the hour.
  12. Absolutely pouring snow in Haymarket. A surprisingly fluffy quality to the snow. Adding up very quickly at the moment, sitting at 2.5 inches @7 am.
  13. 32/21 in Haymarket. No way that we wait until 5 am for precip to start falling. Looks like about 3 am according to radar, however I don't see us getting more than 3 inches in this neck of the woods.
  14. Great storm here in Western PWC. Measured 10.5 and we are still accumulating. .
  15. Ripping right now in Haymarket. A very pretty snow falling and definitely some high ratio stuff falling out of the sky right now. Just finished another shoveling of the driveway and sidewalks and we are just short of 8 inches, maybe we can squeeze double digits out of this.
  16. Clouds seem a little bit thicker and it is noticeably darker. This seems to be allowing the snow to stick a bit better to the roads and sidewalks now. We saw some pretty moderate snow for about 90 minutes between 10:30 and noon but it did not stick to roads at all. 29F -SN with 7.3 inches in Haymarket @2pm.
  17. Big fatties falling from the sky in Haymarket. Hopefully that heavy stuff slightly to the south works its way up the James Madison Highway.
  18. The plows have been working hard in the neighborhood. I believe the HOA is going to blow the winter budget on this event. Obviously they don't know that we are entering an epic pattern for the next few weeks.
  19. First plow came through about 15 minutes ago and we are covered back up. Transitioning to bigger flakes in the last 5 minutes
  20. Not too heavy, but steady, and it seems to be a much higher ratio snow then it was an hour ago. 28/28.
  21. Just had a nice, treacherous drive home from the local watering hole and there is no lull here in Haymarket. A little over 2 inches and coming down very nicely. 28/28
