    Since 1956 there have been 4 10 plus inch snowfalls in March in NYC. Near misses April 6 1982 with 9.6, March 22 1967 9.0 inches , March 21, 2018 8.4, March 2 2009 8.3, March 14 2017 7.6, March 5 2015 7.5. Most of these at 10 inches recorded somewhere within the city boundaries. It’s not as rare as everyone seems to believe. People have short memories.

    I’m in Highland Mills in Orange County. 600 feet elevation, about 8 miles northwest of the Bear mountain bridge. I’ve seen every accumulation possible on maps the last 2 days from 4 inches to 34. I take nothing for granted for this storm. Still keeping my mind open to any outcome. Probably 8-12 is a reasonable expectation atm.

    I’ve seen 10:1 maps, which I’m sure are all over inflated in this setup, from 4 inches to over 30 over my house (Highland Mills NY, 35 miles due west of Danbury) in the last two days. I’ll gladly take the Euro as is but honestly I’m getting PTSD from all the different outcomes. May take a 24 hour break for sanities sake.

    If you even get the historic storm. Most strong El Niño winters you won’t. Occasionally you luck out.

    Strong El Niño’s stink for here. What criteria do you use for good here? A mild low snow winter with the chance for one historic storm. No thanks, I’ve seen that already and I’ll pass.

    Not much wiggle room for me. From 1 inch to 15 inches in a 30 mile span.

    2.3 inches highland Mills. 31.8 and light snow. Already melting off driveway. If I measured at 6:00 was probably closer to three. Compressing and melting from underneath at an alarming rate. Beautiful though stuck to everything. Will mostly be a memory by sunset. 18.5 for the season. Whatever’s falling now won’t keep up with what’s melting underneath.

    2.3 inches here brings the seasonal to 18.5. 31.8 with light snow. Already melting off driveway.

    31.8 light snow 2.3 inches, brings seasonal total to 18.5. The winter of 22/23 never ceases to disappoint. Better than nothing but I’m sure it will all be gone by sunset.

    31.8 now and light snow. Radar just west of here not healthy looking at all. No way it’s still snowing at sunrise. 2:00 am looks like a stretch.

    32.2 steady moderate snow. Grass white nothing on blacktop yet.

    Started as rain here about 6:00 with temp at 38. Changed to all snow about 9:00 when temp hit 34. 32.4 now moderate to heavy snow.

    32.7 moderate snow accumulating on grassy surfaces. Radar to the west doesn’t look great though. Hard to believe this keeps up until after sunrise.

    33.4 and all snow. No accumulation yet. Changed about 20 minutes ago when it hit 34.0

    And 40 miles due west of Danbury in Highland Mills NY I have anti PTSD, if there were such a thing, from that one Still my largest one time event 35 inches. Even beat the 33 I got in the January 96 storm.

    I don’t what all the complaining is about. I’ve liked every snow map I’ve seen so far. Not everyone lives in NYC or central Jersey.

    That’s 7 inches over the Hudson Valley would get me at least close to overcome my worst snowfall season in history. Of course there’s always Tuesday if it doesn’t happen.
