  1. The three snowiest cities in the United States (Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo) are all in New York State. Unfortunately NYC is the last place in the state you want to be for snow.
  2. What we really need is the voice of reason, "Roger Smith" to chime in again. So far his Tuesday call for 24-30 inches in the HV is looking solid.
  3. A low of 6 but up to 12 already. I Really don’t know what to make of overnight model runs for Sunday-Monday. I may take a 24 hour break before even bothering to look again.
  4. The high of 16 was impressive. The low which is my current reading of 7 not so much.
  5. I thought once Roger Smith spoke it was game over. I already have my mind locked for the 30 inches he promised for the HV. He sounded so credible too. Say it ain’t so.
  6. This would be our January 2016 revenge storm.
  7. Walt is the man, of that there is no doubt. We in the northern part of the forum have a special place in our hearts for Walt. He actually recognizes that we exist, and that's all that we ask. I do get tired of seeing people here saying how bad a certain setup is for the forum, rain, mixing, etc, when that same setup is a paradise of white for those of us in the northwest, north and northeast part of the forum. When you cut us do we not bleed too? Yes I'm being melodramatic, this is the banter thread after all, but I digress back to the main point. Walt is the man and I read his analysis first anytime I come here.
  8. Yeah same thoughts here. All this buildup and I had a morning low of 9° exactly 6 degrees below the normal low for the date. I realize it won't rise much so the high should be well below the average high of 35 but give me below0 before we start talking about cold like we haven't seen in several years. Ridic.
  9. Uncle is the 1917/18 daily max of 2 degrees the closest NYC has come to a Max of 0 or below since 1869?
  10. The Central Park total of 5.5 is at 7AM, logic says they surpassed at a minimum 6 inches? Of course since they won't measure again until 1:00 PM anything that fell after 7:00 am will be treated as if it disappeared into another dimension.
  11. 4.0 inches on the nose at 8:30 An over performer to the 2-3 I was expecting. I'll take it and run, and it looks great. Hopefully this is a jump start to bigger and better storms ahead, Would like to get below zero Tuesday and break this two year drought.
  12. 4.0 inches on the nose here in Highland Mills as of 8:20. 25° and snowing lightly. Probably about done here accumulation wise.
  13. 3.2 inches as of 7AM, 4 would be a huge win.
  14. 2.8 inches as of 6 am, so the 5-6 hour worked out well. I don't expect 6-7 am will be anywhere close to an additional inch. Envious of whats going on 50 miles to the south and east.
  15. 2.8 inches as of 6AM. 25° moderate snow. The last hour 1.0 inch even. If just being on the edge of the heavy bands got me that it must be heaven for you guys in the middle of it.
  16. 25.0° and 1.8 inches as of 5AM, still snowing but light to sometimes moderate would describe it best. If I can eke out three inches from this I'll call it a win.
  17. If this one somehow covers the lawn completely, which usually takes 2.5 to 3 inches I'll consider it a win. It's 50-50 where I am in Orange County if that even happens.
  18. I don’t have access but I’m guessing the Euro wasn’t a good run or i’d see some posts regarding the last run ?
  19. Of course hoping for snow Thursday night but also hoping for a sub zero night or two next week. I haven’t recorded sub zero for the past two winters and that’s a first in my lifetime. Would like that streak to end.
  20. I'm guessing a last minute jog 125 miles or so north is not in play?
