    The NAM is a 24 hour event. I really think it's overdone but we'll have to see.

    Whatever it shows likely won't be an actual solution but the NAM is good for entertainment.

    This is likely an oversimplification but last year the RGEM never got in board with basically anything. Every winter is different but the fact it doesn't look that horrible I think might be a good sign.

    It probably won't be that extreme of a difference as that map shows but I would not be surprised at all if NYC is 35-36 flipping between rain and a mix all night while White Plains is 33 and wet snow most of the storm. I also would think Newark would be closer to White Plains in this type of setup.

    I certainly don't take the nam seriously but the euro, gfs, and rgem are not that bad for most of the subforum away from the immediate coast. Only the CMC seems like a complete whiff SE of I287.

    I do too sorta surprisingly although I get the pessimism because of how every storm trended last year but the trends today have been good so hopefully there isn't another late dreadful trend.

    There is going to be a sharp gradient for sure with this one but not sure yet if it's just NW of I95, Along I287, or with a really bad trend I84.

    I mostly agree with Uptons map although still think this could trend one way or another.

    Yea it did best overall again! It was a little underdone and too warm for the HV but overall CMC/RGEM won this storm again.

    Took a short drive the difference between here and near the Tappan Zee Bridge is pretty dramatic, here it's like half an inch on grass, there it looked like a legit 2-3 inches, the line between crap and actual snow looked to be around Dobbs Ferry.

    The storm is not over but the City/LI are now under a dry slot. I agree any heavy precip is over though.

    It's snowing decently right now in this part of Yonkers idk how long it will last.

    I think its less about drying up and more about the low being too close to the coast and the best dynamics over the HV which isn't surprising.

    Now finally changing to mainly snow but meaingful precip should be gone within a few hours.

    That line is deceptive, the city and immediate burbs are junk sleet.

    HRRR says a lot of mixing in the city until 1 pm and then things dry up, still not feeling great about this near the coast but we'll see......

    Unless the rain/snow line barely moves in the next 3 hours (which is possible). The RGEM is most likely going to be wrong

    Would need temps to drop pretty significantly still in the next two hours to see the city and places right near the city overperform expectations with this but I guess thats certainly not impossible.

    Yea the gas prices right now are awful..... but the weenie in me does want to take a drive to Sloatsburg area later to see what it actually looks like.

    These spring or late fall rain to snow events are actually some of the most exciting storms.

    Already pingling mixing in on the Bronx/Westchester border, way earlier than expected.
