  1. Too early to have a call on this. Euro is south while GFS has been north but now trending toward Euro.
  2. This looks like an overrunning type event, my guess is best snows will be to the south but some snow may make it to NYC area.
  3. Agree. I think immediate south shore of LI and immediate coastal areas of the city mix, 1-3 inches for North Shore/Bronx/Immediate NW burbs, maybe 2-4 or higher NW of I287
  4. Although it got off to a slower start SE seems totals ended up pretty even across the region
  5. Agree the overall storm track was modeled fairly well but people kept saying there would be a band on the nw edge.
  6. ECM has light snow Tue and more significant snow Thu-Fri and next Weekend, whatever this pattern is the one we should root for (not awfully cold but tons of storms tracking to our SE)
  7. Win for nws, loss for models, even NAM was too dry west of the city
  8. Temps were more of an issue than modeled for the immediate coast but also the banding was more NW. However this is far from over for NYC and LI
  9. It snows where it wants to snow and northern nj is the favorite place this winter
  10. It's absolutely beautiful out, love snow without strong wind. Started to lighten up a bit in the last half hour or so but still sticking to everything rapidly except main roads, seems to be very good ratios.
  11. Here by Bronx/westchester border already 3 inches or so. Shows the power of banding
  12. Roads already snow covered and still above freezing, this band is awesome
  13. I thought yesterday the heaviest snow amounts would be just nw of the city and on LI, still think so. There’s usually a band that sets up a bit nw of where expected and LI will get rocked in a few hours
  14. Seeing fresh white snow on top of snow piles is such a great site
  15. I think they are an issue first hour for some places but after that column will cool everything with low dewpoints and north wind
  16. The snow is probably as heavy as the Monday storm, I know it will be way shorter duration
  17. It’s really ripping out already starting to stick a bit to car tops
  18. Big flakes now flying, still too warm for accumulation even here at Yonkers/Bronx border
  19. Yea I said above south shore may have some issues the first hour or so, after that everywhere should cool
  20. Nam has over .5 qpf from the city east which seems to be supported by radar
  21. North shore should do fine. South shore and 5 boroughs may have some issues with accumulation the first hour.
