  1. I'm surprised it didn't mix with a lot of sleet up there or maybe it did and still didn't matter, either way rough storm.
  2. Yea Ulster and Orange are the worst places to be in these scenarios but nice places to be when it's snow vs rain.
  3. I mean its definitely possible different parts of yonkers could be seeing different things. By me theres nothing but there is some crunch around snow piles. Also rain just picked up at 31 degrees so we'll see if it's enough to glaze anything.
  4. Yep I had a hunch below 30 would be the magic number. I've seen decent ice accretion at 30-32 but almost always in early morning or evening setups on cold ground, not this type of setup.
  5. Much of Westchester hit freezing by 8 am when the front passed through. It wasn't predictable that temps would stay around 32 instead of plummet into the 20s like some models had showed.
  6. Yes but up there is a different world, you were below freezing at 10 pm. The city is still not below freezing.
  7. Yea some storms are pretty obvious going to not warrant closures like the anafront event we had lol. This is more legit because it was a very tricky forecast and as opposed to snow even a small amount of ice can be a big problem.
  8. QPF of ice and ice accretion are different things though. I've been getting "ZR" since 8:30 am and have no icing anywhere.
  9. Agree thats an evening rush mess if its really those temps at that hour with precip still falling.
  10. The freezing line reached the bronx/westchester border area around 8:30 am and has been sitting there since. Not that suprirising but honestly even sitting at 32 there is no icing here except for a little crunch around old snow piles. Probably places 30 or lower are getting actual icing.
  11. Would expect temps to be dropping now in the HV and still probably rising closer to the coast
  12. NAM still showing over a quarter inch qpf of ice for Manhattan, Bronx, most of Brooklyn and Queens and northern Nassau. I'd say impactful icing probably anywhere north of the 30 degree line which gets to about the Bronx/Westchester border. This is definitely a tough call.
  13. You can just see if the timing is off by a few miles one way or another it can dramatically impact this storm.
  14. Euro has NYC at 46 and HPN at 32 tomorrow at 12z. Can't recall a storm with a gradient that sharp.
  15. I'm surprised Orange and Putnam Counties are not under an ice storm warning. The temp clash is going to create a lot of juice and it could get dangerous on the cold side of it.
