  1. Without a doubt! I was reading a couple postings recently that mentioned how the females actually leave first, then the males and finally the juveniles. But I’m still seeing a good number of all types so maybe they’ve yet to make the journey south. Either way, I’m leaving mine up until the last stragglers head on out, especially if this month is mostly mild.
  2. I hope we can squeeze out some decent rain events this month. There’s a lot of dry patches starting to pop up in non-shaded areas. Perhaps the tropics can deliver a few goodies to us?
  3. Sad to see the hummers making their final preps for migration but always glad to be of assistance to the coolest birds in town. It’s a long haul across the GoM to Central America so every sip counts for the little speedsters.
  4. We shall inevitably revisit this post again on Halloween, Christmas and perhaps Valentine’s Day and get a good chuckle out of it. At least the a/cs get a respite for the time being.
  5. For me, it was the oct 2021 blown down..when half the trees in our neighborhood were knocked down and we had no power for a week. Besides that January storm it’s been 60s/70s in February, seemingly never ending spring rain storms and days of brutal heat and dryness well into the fall. Let’s see if the fun continues going forward!
  6. Yep felt that one earlier in the day. Was taking a little snooze and then heard what sounded like a gunshot going off next door. Must’ve been a direct cg hit within a mile or so. Startled the hell out of me and the ol pooch lol. We’ll take the quick half inch or so from those downpours..every bit counts right now!
  7. When I was a little kid I remember shuffling the water around in the bathtub to simulate a boat in the middle of a raging storm. Needles to say, big momma was never pleased afterwards.
  8. Close, norwell..just a little southeast of there
  9. That cell popped up just to our west, what are the friggin odds lol. Perhaps a quick half inch in the tank?
  10. Some of my best memories as a kid are spending weeks down the cape in harwich with the fam and all my cousins and just relaxing, playing games, hucking rocks at seagulls and doing all sorts of crazy stuff. The days well before smartphones and the internet took over practically everything. It’s something you never forget and it kills me that half my family has either moved south or is no longer with us. It’s not the same without the people you love.
  11. Come on now, that’s half the fun of the summer. The family jewels are as low as they’re gonna go and when ya sit down after a good steamy walk, ya gotta make sure your legs don’t accidentally crush anything!
  12. 57 and rain (at least it’s raining) Coc k!
  13. I like that but a few rain events mixed in would be great to keep the dust clouds at bay and the trees from getting too droopy. It’s been a rough stretch these last few weeks in the water department.
  14. Couldn’t even break 70 today. Let’s skip ahead to Christmas morning, enough of this chilly bullcrap.
  15. Suddenly thunder and a quick downpour. We’ll take it! Still a total steam bath out there.
  16. The slow descent to 75 on Christmas with tropical downpours? I like the your thinking tippy!
  17. If it’s anything like the first half of last fall, I’m all for it. The winters just aren’t what they used to be around here (at least on the coastal plain) and by mid January, I’m usually thinking of much brighter skies and greener pastures! We really gotta do away with the whole daylight savings bs imo..that would really take a huge sting off of things.
  18. Days and days of above average temps mixed with rain, mist and fog until mid April? I can’t friggin wait man.
  19. Power just went out briefly..the poor dog doesn’t know what to do lol
  20. Doggie is currently sheltering in place. (Under my bed)
  21. Hearing a few distant boomies..perhaps we get side swiped by the storms offshore?
  22. No rain here just a complete steambath all around. Didn’t think we could top the humidity levels we had earlier in the season but here we are! Sadly looks like any good moisture will stay to our north.
  23. This heat oddly enough feels just as intense as what we had earlier in the season, despite the loss of some daylight. I think the humidity is much more of a factor this time around as the air really has that extra thickness to it today, which we’ve been missing for a while. Got a little walk in out by the waterfront but it’s hard to do much of anything except relax in these conditions. A true summer day for sure!
