Awesome shot! Been able to spot a couple red headed woodpeckers in recent weeks here at the feeder. You can always tell when they're around when you hear drumming on trees in the yard, usually early in the mornings..

Guess my evening shower will have to wait a little bit..more worried about getting zapped than contracting the beer virus right now lol

I, for one enjoy being able to walk outside not bundled up like an eskimo. Guess that's what makes weather so subjective..for now, we take and relish in the unusual mildness and then its back to hibernation for a while.

For me, a little bit of consistency would be nice with the weather. If it's going to rain, let it rain and stay that way. The same goes with the snow as well as the temperatures. It's hard to get used to the weather when we go from 60 one day then down to the 30 the next. This shit can't be good for one's immune system, let alone our sanity. Right now, we have 2" of crusty, cement like snow on the lawn from all the melting/refreezing and the rain-snow events from just the last week, not to mention a layer of black ice on the driveway. Kind of sucks when you're caught in the battlezone between the picturesque snows to the north and the moisture/dews to our south. Anyways, just venting a little here, please go on..

Hard to believe it was 55 here just a couple days ago. Now it suddenly feels like mid-January, go figure.. At least you guys up north are putting that cold to good use There's nothing more picturesque than snow falling in the middle of the night, kind of like watching an approaching thunderstorm on a steamy summer evening. Both weather events will always have a soft spot in my weenie heart.

Personally, the only time I truly care for snowfall is mid Dec-late Feb..after that, bring on the lushness of spring (or more realistically fog, drizzle, and eventually warmth mixed with flies). There is nothing more classic in New England than seeing snow around Christmas, but after that my interest does wane somewhat. It's almost like having a 95/70 day on July 4th as you're at the beach basking in the sun and attempting to brave the frigid waters to get some relief. It just seems fitting ya know? And I totally agree with what Tip said recently how cold without any moisture to go with it feels like a waste. I've always felt that way even as a kid in school. If it's going to be cold then for goodness sake, let's have some snow to go along with it and brighten things up a bit!

Finally about to start raining here after a beautiful 77F day Couldn't ask for better conditions this time of year, but I'm sure the friendly folks to my north would strongly disagree lol..

Now this is what I expect from an August day..slightly hot, a little muggy but not oppressive, days that are still fairly long and the smell of bbq chicken in the air Yesterday just felt a little off in my opinion..

Really just an archetypcal summer day here in the 'well. 88F, scorching sun..tropical humidity, the usual. Still 78 out there and feels like a sauna right now! Gonna try to hit the beach soon..hopefully by now the water on the Cape isn't super chilly anymore, or at least warm enough to keep the shrinkage to a minimum..

Yep, this is the definition of summer imo..mid 80s, little bit of humidity, light haze off in the distance, long days, you get the idea! All we need is a bit of a light show in the late evening to keep the bbq in our stomaches from getting too settled and we call it a day! Seriously though, this is perfection this time of year..

Bug city out there right now..doesn't help that I live near swamplands heh. As for obs idk, soupy, damp, dank, just downright nasty. What a way to start off the season officially lol..

We are absolutely getting pasted here right now. I'm worried that within the next few hours the power's gonna go out. We're seeing gusts easily over 40mph. I'm jealous of those seeing snow of a lighter consistency as this stuff is backbreaking to move. Best of luck to everyone keeping their lights on tonight!

God, I hope we don't lose the power here. I don't know if the trees/power lines here will be able to handle all the snow that's anticipated to fall here along with the very strong winds Thankfully, we have a generator but man that thing is heavy as hell. As it looks right now, we might be able to jump out our windows come Wednesday morning to a nice soft landing lol
