First flakes of the season. Snowing In Richmond.

Rain changing to snow in Richmond now.

Its all snow now in the east end. The radar returns seem to be sinking further south..

The storm next weekend is nuts. TBD where it actually is frozen. Could easily be west of us or east of us. Its an wave of low pressure developing along the arctic front as it pushes through the east.

Honestly won't be surprised if we go to plain rain at this in the East end.

Might be more rain than we initially thought. NOt as much snow, ice favored, then goes to rain?

Yea gfs was less ice more snow at 18z. :x

Most guidance has increased the ice threat, and decreased the threat of higher snow totals for the Richmond area. Especially eastern areas. :p

We are in typical wait and see mode.

11" total so far. I do not expect much more. A sleet snow mixture has begun. 30.6 degrees.

I don't see why not, but I am not 100 percent sure about that.

HRRR and RAP are your best bets for short term monitoring of projected snow/sleet/rain lines. Otherwise just monitor surface observations and duel polarizing radars.

I think east side will be lucky to break 1" of snow. Sure I think we will see are first flakes in the Metro... The exact amount remains to be seen. South West Va is where this storm is going to go to town at.

2.5" total.... Precip starting to wane it seems. No AKQ radar sucks. But ne radar looks pretty meh for the remainder of the area for now.
