  1. Weird how we reverted right back to the swamp pattern we've had the past 3 summers. Their seems to be a correlation between snowless winters and swampy mosquito filled cloudy summers. It's been challenging growing a garden in this climate.
  2. So much for a beautiful weekend. Looks pretty socked in today. Cool, damn and cloudy. Feels like it's drizzling a bit too.
  3. I wonder if that batch of rain will craw NE and hold together. Short range models hint at it.
  4. Oh I see what you mean. The NAM 3K has a jackpot of 7" just west of DC. I doubt it though.
  5. Looks like those of us that missed most of the rain yesterday will see some today. HRRR looks like a rainy day.
  6. Crazy. You're actually like 3 miles from me. I put my drone up and it was a wall of water looking that way. I'm up on Bell Branch, Rd. We're considered Gambrills. I ended up getting a nice steady light rain for a couple hours so I'm happy.
  7. Nothing here. I actually thought it was going to rain so I put fertilizer down in my corn stand. Now I've got to go turn the sprinklers on to water it in. I hate days like this. You're either under water or bone dry. Bone dry here with flooding all around me in just about every direction.
  8. Same. My grass can burn in hell. All I care about is my garden. Looks like some towers are starting to bubble up already. Feels like a good lightning day.
  9. I've been having a nice beneficial rain for the past 20 minutes or so. I'd estimate about .25 has fallen so far. Coming down hard suddenly and the sun is out. Perfect garden rain.
  10. It kinda feels like the peak is past here in my area. Friday seemed to be the peak here. I'm seeing lots of dead ones now and the sound seems slightly less each day starting yesterday.
  11. Yeah. The HRRR says to break out those sprinkles later today.
  12. Thank goodness for the internet. My whole life I thought I was the only one with this weird obsession with weather lol. 88 after a hight of 92. Today was pretty intense working in the sun. First day of the summer I cringed at my choice of making a living.
  13. What you described as a "great summer" has never happened in my 42 years of life in the DC area lol. Maybe the mountains but not here. 91 with a bit of a breeze. My young sweetcorn stand is liking it.
  14. Yesterday was a fail here. I never even heard a rumble of thunder. I had a 20 minute light shower. I would of totally run barefoot through that tornado ^
  15. This is why I'm a fan of regular thunderstorms. Severe around here is like chasing that 2'+ snow event only (JI lol). Severe for my location is probably more rare then the big dog snows.
  16. Ahhh.. that's what I like to hear lol. Warm and humid and the sun has been baking all day. Hopefully my area does better then the high deserts.
  17. Once it ends in November we'll flip to 50 and rain for 6 months. Had a sprinkle early this morning. Not expecting much of anything today or tomorrow.
  18. Beyond that? This is it for the next 5 months lol. Sun trying to peak out 70 degrees
  19. Makes you wonder how people that stupid made it to adulthood.
  20. Here as well. The cicadas even started singing breafly. It didn't last long. It went back to thick low clouds and spotty drizzle.
  21. 50 and drizzle is our normal from November to May. Weird how it is still 50 with drizzle on memorial day weekend lol
  22. Same here. I was watching it with my drone right at dark. You could see the shelf cloud and dark curtains of rain with a dark orange backdrop. That was all highlighted by big bolts of cloud to ground lightning. They were some fun storms for sure. Really enjoyable.
  23. It was awesome here too. I caught a great view of it from 600' up with my drone. This drone is a game changer. Living in a wooded area always limited my view of storms. Not anymore!
  24. Looks like the classic DC split is forming beautifully. I wish it would just rain. The sprinkles the other day dried up by 9am the following morning.
  25. Sunny, hot and humid here in AA county. Looks, feels and sounds like some exotic tropical jungle.
