    I keep seeing "you don't want this freezing rain". What if I kinda do? I might be weird. But I remember back in like 1993 or maybe 91 when we had something similar to this. It looked like a magical winter wonderland for a week. I remember the first time the sun hit that ice on trees. I just ordered micro spikes for my boots. LFG!

    I'll be doing Bacon Ridge in Crownsville. I plan to sleet to about 11pm. Get up and be at the trail head at midnight. My plan is to head about 4 miles in. I'll being taking pictures of the old cemetery where the trail crosses the old Crownsville Mental institution property. From Hawkins Road to there is a good 4 miles. That's 8 miles round trip. It should be epic with heavy snow.

    All my friends and family expect it from me lol. I mean.. my vacation this year was a snow chase on the Tug Hill. 6 feet in 4 days was exactly what I needed lol

    Yup. Now that I got that out of the ole system I'm ready to do this. This looks like an pretty unusual and interesting storm. At the end of the day that's what I'm about. I'm excited to get pelted in the face with ice while hiking on Sunday. I'm actually planning a midnight to dawn hike Saturday night. I've got an extra head lamp and joint for you lol. LFG!

    I'm actually planning a Saturday night 7 mile thru hike. I'm thinking about starting at midnight and finishing at daybreak. Want to come? It will be really fun.

    I want to apologize for a few unhinged post lol. The transition from clean storm to dirty storm was frustrating. Now that were settling into it I'm getting excited for heavy snow and dumping sleet. I had to do a little self reflection this morning to clean up my perspective on this. LFG!

    It looks like the euro might give us some fluff love after the sleet explosion around DC. That would nice.

    I had almost 10" of cold smoke last January. No mix, no drama. Just a beautiful snow followed by cold. I'm just frustrated as always watching pa get crushed by our storm lol

    It's pretty clear that DC and east is going to be a massive sleet bomb. Such a bummer. Record cold and still can't snow lol.

    Man.. I hope that backside works out. Light to moderate snow Sunday night would be pure powder.

    I've seen this many times in my area. I'll put money on this. This will end up 3-5" of snow. It will come in hot and heavy but flip to sleet within a few hours. We'll get sleet for another 4-5 hours before the dryslot moves in and shuts it off. Maybe some freezing drizzle. Nothing remotely close to what we were tracking on Monday.

    I'd bet on a compromise. We all still win. Lots of snow follow by a mini ice age, followed by lake effect quality cold smoke on the tail. I feel like this is a mini blizzard of 96 here in the lowlands.

    Yeah, true. I just talked to my mom. She's running around in a panic buying groceries. My dad was cussing at some old rusty snowblower thst hasn't run since 2016. I'll tell them to chill. Lol
